Preparation:

The first thing to do is extract the lead from the colored pencils to prepare the paints.

With the leads of the colored pencils already extracted, we begin the process. You can help yourself with a hammer and a cutter to extract the sheet. Gently tap the sides of the colored pencil until it begins to crack lengthwise.

At this moment with the help of the blades we extract the mine.

The lead is loose and broken into smaller pieces, we put it in the empty and clean container and add water to cover the lead. We let these colored mines rest for hours and stir with a toothpick from time to time.

The lead will soften and little by little it will turn into a pasty paint.

This is how I start to try this experimental painting and it is to paint an ancient soldier on canvas.

It's a way of painting that excites me because of the way the colors blend but also how you can paint layer upon layer without problems.

I wanted to achieve the texture of a polished bronze helmet and the experimental paints have given me an impressive shine with pretty good coverage.

Also in skin tones I have managed to do a fairly comfortable job.
