Hi, friends! October came with the best positivism ever.
How are you preparing for Halloween? We don't celebrate it in our country, Venezuela, but I know that in other countries do it.
I always think how great it would be if we celebrate it here.
Anyway, I'm here to show you the new slippers I made for my sister and my boyfriend as I promised to my #DIYHub team.
As I mentioned before, I wanted to implement a new lifestyle at home. No shoes but slippers, so the floor won't get too dirty. Following that idea, I made the new slippers for the rest of the members of my home.
Materials:
- Patterns.
- Wadding.
- Scissors.
- Recycled old jeans.
- Pins.
- Thread.
- Sewing machine.
- Blue velvet fabric.
Step 1:We draw the patterns and cut them out. Then we transfer them to the old jean fabric, and press them with pins. From these we take out a pair of each mold, leaving 1 cm wide for sewing.
The same procedure was then performed on the velvety fabric and the wadding.
Step 2:For the upper part, we take out two pairs again for each mold, only this time they will only be made of the velvety fabric and the wadding. This part will cover our feet. One pair will be to completely cover the instep and toes, and the other pair will have an opening at the tip to reveal the toes.
Step 3:In this step, we will sew all the pieces in our sewing machine.
Step 4: Then, we will sew our border using a strip of at least 3 cm. We will first sew this border to the instep of our slippers.
Step 5: Finally, we will sew the edges around all the slippers and stitch them together so that they do not unpick in the future.
And this way, My sister, and my boyfriend got their slippers too. Now, all they have to do is wear them in the house when they're at home, and leave the shoes on the doorstep.
