Hello everyone
It's another beautiful day here with you all in this great community I hope you are all doing great and having a nice day out there, I will be sharing with you today the making of a multipurpose cosmetics pouch with a zipper and two sides pocket for my friend using two colors of different fabrics
Few days ago, my friend had asked me to make a simple and small pouch for her for keeping her simple make up in it, then I thought two different pouch for her, well I decided to make this design first and the other one later for her to choose from, since she was not specific on the design she wanted, the only discretion she gave was something simple for her simple make up.
Here we go, join me in the cutting and sewing process
For the main pouch, I measured and cut out 15 x 9" of fabric with interfacing ironed on it with lining of same shape
For the side pockets, I measured and cut out 11 x 9" with interfacing ironed on it and lining
I took the pieces for the side pockets, placed the lining on it and sew it round, leaving an opening by the side where it can be turned inside out
After sewing, it was turned inside out through the opening and the opening was top stitched on
I took the main pieces for the main pouch and sew the piece for the side pocket on the center with a straight line
Then I placed a zipper at the top with the lining and it was sewn together on both sides
I top stitched on the zipper and I folded it lining to lining and fabric to fabric
The zipper was open to the middle and I sew on both sides leaving an opening on the lining where it can be turned inside out while at the edges, I measured 1.5" and sew on it to have a balanced base for the pouch
The excess zipper were trimmed off before it was turned inside out through the opening and the opening was top stitched on
Finally, the lining was put back in the pouch and this is the final outcome.
I have some of my cosmetics arranged in it just as my friend would have hers in it , you can see how beautiful the outcome is.
