Hello hive
Greetings to you all from this end, it's feels great to be here today to share with you my recent and simple traditional outfit of iro and buba I made for my sister's friend's little daughter.
In recent time, I have been making outfit for my sister's friend and I always make sure I have left over no matter how small the fabric is, with combination of other materials I ensure i make outfit for her little daughter, this is one thing she likes and got her attracted to me she appreciates me making sure that her little daughter have an outfit from her fabric.
Yesterday, I made a post on how I made a short gown with 3 tires flare for my sister's friend from the fabric she brought to me, she said I should make something simple and nice for her as she trusts my creativity but for her daughter, she was specific on what to make for her, she prefers me to sew a traditional outfit of iro and buba for her, the last time they did cultural day at school, she was left out as she doesn't have a traditional outfit to wear, so she decided to make one for her from the remaining fabric.
After Sewing here's, I had enough fabric to make her desired outfit of iro and buba for her daughter.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process
To sew this, I used 1½yards of fabric, first thing I did was to cut out the iro using x2 of the hip measurement plus 5" and the full length measurement from waist to the full length.
The bodice was also cut out by using the hip circumstance measurement from the shoulder to hip line.
The neckline was cut out with 2½ by 2½"
Lastly, the sleeve was measured by deducting the excess added to the shoulder line to get the sleeve full length.
To sew, the wrapper was hem on both sides with rope to tie at both edges while the buba was sewn with the sleeves attached to it.
The neckline was piped with a bais tape for neat finishing as simple as that.
