I have had a few days that were a little complicated, quite stressful I would say, but something that helps me a lot to relax my mind a little in those moments is to do some type of craft. That's why today I'm sharing with you how I made this Mindcraft axolotl with cardboard and a little acrylic paint.

Espero se encuentren muy bien y sumamente creativos ❤️. He tenido unos días un poco complicados, bastante estresantes diría yo, pero algo que me ayuda muchísimo para relajar un poco la mente en esos momentos, es realizar algún tipo de manualidad. Por eso hoy les comparto cómo hice este ajolote de mindcraft con cartón y un poco de pintura acrílica.
As I told you at the beginning of the post, making crafts is an activity that I love and it helps me a lot to clear my mind, since I put all my attention on what I am doing. In fact, on my social networks I save folders and folders of videos that appear to me and thanks to some reference it occurs to me to do other related things. That is to say, I happened to find a video where they teach how to make an origami crane, and based on that video, I can think of ornaments or pendants that I could make with those cranes, and every time I can or need an escape from routine, I get to work and very beautiful things usually emerge.
Como les adelante al inicio del post, realizar manualidades es una actividad que me encanta y me sirve mucho para despejar la mente, ya que toda mi atención la pongo en lo que estoy haciendo. De hecho, en mis redes sociales voy guardando carpetas y carpetas de videos que me van apareciendo y gracias a alguna referencia se me ocurre hacer otras cosas relacionadas. Es decir, me ha pasado de encontrar un video en donde enseñan a hacer una grulla de origami, y en base a ese video, se me ocurren adornos o colgantes que podría realizar con esas grullas, y cada vez que puedo o necesito un escape de la rutina, me pongo manos a la obra y suelen surgir cosas muy bellas.
The most beautiful thing about this activity is that every creation I make, I think of as a gift to someone, so that makes me feel more inspired, I enjoy it more, and it contains a lot of love.
On this occasion, it occurred to me to make this mindcraft axolotl for a person that I appreciate very much. To be honest, I don't have the slightest idea about that game, I've never played it, but I know that he likes it a lot and always wants to tell me about his missions or he always shows me the things he's building. I remembered that in one of those conversations, he mentioned to me that the blue axolotl is the most difficult to get (in fact, he doesn't have any) that's why I thought of this gift.
Lo mas bello de esta actividad, es que cada creación que realizo, la pienso para obsequiársela a alguien, entonces eso hace que me sienta mas inspirado, que lo disfrute más, y que contenga mucho amor.En esta ocasión, se me ocurrió hacerle este ajolote de mindcraft a una persona que aprecio mucho. Para ser honestos, no tengo ni la menor idea sobre ese juego, jamás lo he jugado, pero se que a el le gusta mucho y siempre quiere contarme sobre sus misiones o también siempre me va mostrando las cosas que va construyendo. Recordé que en una de esas conversaciones, me mencionó que el ajolote azul es el mas difícil de conseguir (de hecho, no tiene ninguno) por eso pensé en este regalo.
To make this craft I needed cardboard (I had to leave the powdered milk unboxed 😅), pencil, ruler, scissors, white glue, glue and some brushes and acrylic paint.
Well, I also needed a lot of patience 😂.
On the Internet you can find countless templates to print and make these cardboard dolls, but since I don't have a printer, I had to make the entire grid myself. On the box of powdered milk, I took my ruler, my pencil and began to draw vertical lines leaving a centimeter of distance between each one and then I did the same with the horizontal ones. Once the grid was made, I very carefully highlighted the figures that I then cut out to assemble the head and body of the axolotl.
Para realizar esta manualidad necesité cartón (tuve que dejar sin caja a la leche en polvo 😅), lápiz, regla, tijeras, cola blanca, pegamento y algunos pinceles y pintura acrílica.Bueno, también necesité bastante paciencia 😂.
En internet se pueden encontrar infinidad de plantillas para imprimir y realizar estos muñecos de cartón, pero como yo no tengo impresora, tuve que realizar toda la cuadricula yo mismo. Sobre la caja de leche en polvo, tomé mi regla, mi lápiz y comencé a trazar líneas verticales dejando un centímetro de distancia entre cada una y luego hice lo mismo con las horizontales. Una vez hecha la cuadricula, remarqué con mucho cuidado, las figuras que luego recorté para armar la cabeza y el cuerpo del ajolote.
Once I had the body and head assembled, I glued them in place and then cut out the limbs and details of this little animal to also glue them in their respective places.
When I had the axolotl all assembled, I finally started to paint it. I'm not going to lie to you, that part was eternal 🙃. I never thought it would take me so long to paint this piece, but since it was composed of "cubes", I painted square by square, and on top of different and specific tones (taking into account that if the acrylic paint dried, it would most likely I didn't get exactly the same tone again, since I put them together myself by mixing some colors), it was quite tedious. But it was achieved!
Una vez que ya tenia el cuerpo y la cabeza armados, los pegué en su lugar y luego recorté las extremidades y detalles de este animalito para también pegarlas en sus respectivos lugares.Cuando tuve todo el ajolote armado, al fin comencé a pintarlo. No les voy a mentir, esa parte fue eterna 🙃. Nunca pensé que me llevaría tanto tiempo pintar esta pieza, pero al ser compuesta por "cubos", pintar cuadradito por cuadradito, y encima de tonalidades diferentes y especificas (teniendo en cuenta de que si la pintura acrílica se secaba, lo mas probable era que no vuelva a llegar exactamente al mismo tono, ya que los fui armando yo mismo mesclando algunos colores), fue bastante tedioso. Pero se logró!
I let it dry for a few hours and the only thing left to do was varnish it to protect it from dust and humidity, so I mixed a little water with white glue and gave it a fairly generous layer over the entire surface of the axolotl. I let it dry completely, then gave it a second coat.
Lo dejé secar por unas horas y lo único que quedaba por hacer, era barnizarlo para protegerlo del polvo y de la humedad, por lo que mesclé un poco de agua con cola blanca y le di una capa bastante generosa por toda la superficie del ajolote. Lo dejé secar por completo, para luego darle una segunda capa.
When I gave the gift to the dear recipient, he loved it! That's what I like most about this whole process, the moment of handing it over and feeling the satisfaction makes me get at least a smile from someone I appreciate a lot.
This last photo is of the axolotl already stuck on the wall of his room 😊.
Cuando le entregué el obsequio al querido destinatario, le encantó! eso es lo que mas me gusta de todo este proceso, el momento de entregarlo y sentir la satisfacción me genera sacarle al menos una sonrisa a alguien que aprecio mucho.Esta ultima foto es del ajolote ya pegado en la pared de se habitación 😊.
