Hola amigos de #hive, espero que estén pasando un excelente día. Por aquí ya terminó la fiesta de Carnaval y esperamos ahora la temporada de Semana Santa. Ya saben que ahora estoy en casa dedicada por entero a las labores del hogar y al cuidado de mis hijos, poniendo especial atención en Ale quien ha sufrido una enfermedad bastante fuerte. Gracias a Dios hay esperanzas de que vuelva a ser un hombre funcional y pueda desenvolverse dentro de la casa. En estos días he realizado varias manualidades, busco un tiempo para el relax y mantenerme ocupada haciendo cosas útiles con mis manos es muy relajante para mí. He tejido también un poco.
Hoy les voy a mostrar el proceso para realizar unas esponjas para limpiar la casa, yo las necesito para enjabonar los lavamanos más que todo. Para hacerlas utilicé material reciclado ♻️.

Thank God, there is hope that he will become functional again and be able to function within the home. These days I have been doing various crafts. I am looking for time to relax, and keeping myself busy doing useful things with my hands is very relaxing for me. I have also been knitting a little.
Today I am going to show you how to make sponges for cleaning the house. I need them mainly for washing the sinks. To make them, I used recycled materials ♻️.

RECYCLING AND CREATING.
Para realizar esta manualidad utilicé tela de franela, reciclé una franela de color gris que mi hijo dejó de usar. Era una talla grande por lo que me rindió para hacer dos manualidades, estas esponjas y otra que les mostraré en un próximo post.
Los materiales necesarios para hacer esta labor son:
- Tela de franela reciclada.
- Tijeras.
- Esponjas delgadas.
- Hilo de coser.
- Aguja 🪡 de coser.
To make this craft, I used flannel fabric, recycling a gray flannel shirt that my son no longer wore. It was a large size, so I was able to make two crafts: these sponges and another one that I will show you in a future post.
The materials needed to make this craft are:
- Recycled flannel fabric.
- Scissors.
- Thin sponges.
- Sewing thread.
- Sewing needle.
♻️ Para hacer las esponjas utilicé las mangas de la franela, con cada una realicé una esponja. En realidad con esta tela forré dos trozos cuadrados de esponja, también reciclada.
- Corté los dos trozos de esponjas de forma cuadrada, no a la perfección.
- Corté a la medida de la esponja dejando un cm más de tela que usaré para pasar la costura.
♻️ To make the sponges, I used the sleeves of the flannel shirt, making one sponge from each sleeve. I actually used this fabric to cover two square pieces of sponge, which were also recycled.
- I cut the two pieces of sponge into squares, not perfectly.
- I cut the sponge to size, leaving an extra centimeter of fabric that I will use for the seam.
- Pasé costura con hilo de coser por tres de los lados de la manga recortada.
- Luego di vuelta a la manga ya cuadrada y metí la esponja.
- I sewed three sides of the cut sleeve with sewing thread.
- Then I turned the now square sleeve inside out and inserted the sponge.
- Una vez que metí la esponja en la tela procedí a coser el cuarto lado de la manga.
- Corté un trozo de tela de las costuras de la franela para hacer el asa de la esponja.
- Antes de terminar de coser metí el asa y pasé costura para fijarla en una de las esquinas.
- Me gusta mucho coser a mano, aunque no se me quita el deseo de poder tener una máquina de coser algún día.
- Once I had inserted the sponge into the fabric, I proceeded to sew the fourth side of the sleeve.
- I cut a piece of fabric from the seams of the flannel to make the sponge handle.
- Before finishing sewing, I inserted the handle and sewed it in place in one of the corners.
- I really enjoy sewing by hand, although I still dream of owning a sewing machine someday.
♻️ Me gustó mucho realizar esta manualidad, hace bastante tiempo que no cosía. Esa franela fue muy querida y valorada por mi hijo. Él mismo le hizo el estampado, le quedó muy bonita. Lamentablemente estaba ya muy viejita y desgastada. Lo mejor es que pude darle un poco más de tiempo de existencia. Usaré las esponjas para el lavado de mis lavamanos. Siempre quiero esponjas suaves porque sufro de dolor crónico, a veces me da fuerte en las manos y prefiero usar esponjas flexibles, livianas y suaves.
Espero que les haya gustado esta idea de reciclaje. Podemos hacer muchas esponjas y tener almacenadas para usar en la limpieza del hogar.
♻️ I really enjoyed doing this craft project; it had been quite a while since I had sewn anything. That flannel was very dear to my son and he cherished it. He made the print himself, and it turned out very nicely. Unfortunately, it was already very old and worn out. The best thing is that I was able to give it a little more life. I will use the sponges to wash my sinks. I always want soft sponges because I suffer from chronic pain, sometimes severe in my hands, so I prefer to use flexible, lightweight, and soft sponges.
I hope you liked this recycling idea. We can make lots of sponges and store them for use in cleaning the house.
