Hola amigos. Espero que estén muy bien. Como ya saben ando organizando un viaje ✈️ para Argentina en virtud de que mi hijo mayor se encuentra muy delicado de salud. Todavía no he completado para los pasajes de ida, pero tengo fé que más pronto que tarde lo lograré 🙏🏽.
Mientras pienso, tomo las agujas y me pongo a tejer. Mi hermana mayor me dió la idea para tejer bufandas y cuellos con hilo pabilo. Me estuvo explicando sobre las diferentes capas de protección que usan los chilenos para resguardarse del frío. Sí, mi hermana mayor está en Chile y allá también el frío está que quema.

While I am thinking, I take the needles and start knitting. My older sister gave me the idea to knit scarves and collars with pabilo yarn. She was explaining to me about the different layers of protection that Chileans use to protect themselves from the cold. Yes, my older sister is in Chile and the cold is burning there too.
Fui a la bodega y compré unos ovillos del hilo pabilo rústico. Tejí una cadena de más o menos 30 cm y a partir de allí empecé a tejer vueltas de medios puntos altos. Empecé con la idea de tejer una bufanda larga de al menos 2 metros, pero después como ví que el hilo no me alcanzaría cambie de plan y tejo un cuello.
I went to the bodega and bought a few balls of rustic pabilo yarn. I knitted a chain of about 30 cm and from there I started to knit loops of half double crochet stitches. I started with the idea of knitting a long scarf of at least 2 meters, but then I saw that the yarn would not be enough and I changed my plan and knit a collar.
Se puede notar algo de relieve en el punto de la bufanda. Eso es porque tejí todas las vueltas tomando solo la hebra de atrás del punto. Es la primera vez que tejo un cuello. He tejido muchísimas bufandas, para niños y para adultos, sin embargo ninguna para mí no había tejido cuellos.
Mi hermana me contó que cuando ella se fue para Chile se abrigó con bufandas que le regaló una tía. Están hechas de pabilo y me segura que cubren bastante bien. No lo dudo porque este cuello que recién terminó se siente muy abrigable.
🧣 Una vez que tejí todas las vueltas de medios puntos altos uni los extremos con punto deslizado. Después en casa uno de los bordes tejí un corto punto elástico, apenas de dos vueltas y finalicé con puntos bajos.
You can notice some relief on the scarf stitch. That's because I knitted all the loops taking only the back strand of the stitch. This is the first time I knit a collar. I have knitted many, many scarves, for children and for adults, however none for me I had not knitted collars.
My sister told me that when she went to Chile she wore scarves that an aunt gave her. They are made of wick and I'm sure they cover quite well. I don't doubt it because this collar she just finished feels very warm.
🧣 Once I knitted all the loops of half double crochet I joined the ends with slip stitch. Then at home one of the edges I knit a short ribbed stitch, just barely two rounds and finished with slip stitch.
La verdad es que me gustó mucho tejer el cuello. Lo tejí en un día, por ratitos. Fui a visitar a mi hermana menor y me lo llevé 😃 ahí adelanté varias vueltas. A lo mejor tejo después la bufanda para usarla como segunda capa. Yo de por sí soy friolenta, no soporto temperaturas muy bajas. Así que me tengo que preparar y aprender a protegerme.

The truth is that I really enjoyed knitting the collar. I knit it in one day, in short bursts. I went to visit my younger sister and took it with me 😃 I knitted several rounds. Maybe I'll knit the scarf later to use it as a second layer. I'm already cold, I can't stand very low temperatures. So I have to prepare and learn how to protect myself.
