DIY: Magnet decorated in the shape of a female soccer player. [ENG+ESP]

Playing sports is an activity that enriches both body and mind. Among them, I have always liked soccer the most, since by practicing it I keep my whole body active and, as I understand, this greatly benefits the cardiovascular system. In addition, it is very good for improving concentration and interpersonal relationships, as it is played as a team.

Taking into account all the benefits of this exciting sport, I have decided to create a decorated magnet inspired by it. To do so, I will be showing you a tutorial in which I will show you how to create, step by step, a soccer player using fomi of different colors. Let's get started.

Practicar deportes es una actividad que enriquece tanto el cuerpo como la mente. Entre ellos, siempre me ha gustado más el fútbol, ya que al practicarlo mantengo activo todo el cuerpo y, según tengo entendido, esto beneficia en gran medida al sistema cardiovascular. Además, es muy bueno para mejorar la concentración y las relaciones interpersonales, pues se juega en equipo.

Teniendo en cuenta todos los beneficios de este apasionante deporte, he decidido crear un imán decorado inspirado en él. Para ello, estaré mostrándoles un tutorial en el cual les enseñaré cómo crear, paso a paso, una jugadora de fútbol utilizando fomi de diversos colores. Comencemos.

Step by step // Paso a paso

1️⃣ The first thing to do is to mark the shapes that make up the ornament on a sheet of paper and then cut out each one with scissors. If you wish, at the end I will leave a link where you can find the original molds in case you want to print them.

Lo primero será marcar las formas que componen el adorno en una hoja de papel y luego recortar cada una con unas tijeras. En caso de que así lo deseen, al final dejaré un enlace donde podrán encontrar los moldes originales por si desean imprimirlos.

2️⃣ With the cut out pieces of paper, the silhouettes are marked on the fomi sheets. The first parts marked will be the hair and the exposed body parts, such as the head and hands. These pieces correspond to the carmelite and skin colored fomi.

Con las piezas de papel recortadas se marcan las siluetas sobre láminas de fomi. Las primeras partes marcadas serán el pelo y las partes corporales expuestas, como la cabeza y las manos. Estas piezas corresponden al fomi de color carmelita y color piel.

3️⃣ The process of the previous step is repeated, but this time for the parts corresponding to the outfit and accessories, including the soccer ball. In this case, the colors to be used will be light blue, white and black.

Se repite el proceso del paso anterior, pero esta vez para las partes correspondientes al atuendo y accesorios, incluyendo la pelota de fútbol. En este caso, los colores que se utilizarán serán el azul celeste, blanco y negro.

4️⃣ Once all the parts of the ornament have been cut, we proceed to its assembly, starting from the top downwards. Four pieces of hair, two blue ribbons and the head will be necessary to create the first part.

Una vez estén cortadas todas las partes del adorno, se procede a su armado, empezando desde arriba hacia abajo. Cuatro piezas del pelo, dos cintas azules y la cabeza serán necesarios para crear la primera parte.

5️⃣ The shirt, sleeves and hands will be used for the middle of the ornament. By integrating these pieces with the collar, the torso will be formed and some decorative details will be created with black and blue strips.

Para el medio del adorno se utilizarán la camisa, mangas y manos. Al integrar estas piezas con el cuello, quedaría formado el torso al que, con tiras negras y azules, se le crearán algunos detalles decorativos.

6️⃣ The legs, socks and shoes, which include the black heels, will be glued to the bottom. Once everything is in place, the shoelaces, which are nothing more than a cross of white fomi cut in super thin strips, will be glued.

En la parte inferior irán pegadas las piernas, medias y zapatos, los cuales incluyen los tacos negros. Una vez que todo esté acomodado en su lugar, se pegarán los cordones de los zapatos, los cuales no son más que una cruz de fomi blanco cortado en tiras superfinas.

7️⃣ The only thing missing is the left forearm and the right hand and after gluing them together, add a white ball. Next, a fine-tipped pencil will be used to draw the hexagons of the ball and the girl's face.

Ya solo faltaría el antebrazo izquierdo y la mano derecha para luego de pegarlos agregar una pelota blanca. Seguidamente, se utilizará un lápiz de punta fina para dibujar los hexágonos de la pelota y el rostro de la chica.

8️⃣ After painting all the drawing in black, white reflections will be added above the eyes. Finally, on the back of the ornament, the two magnets were placed, leaving the ornament ready to be placed on a metallic surface.

Luego de pintar de negro todo lo dibujado, se agregarán reflejos blancos encima de los ojos. Para finalizar, en el reverso del adorno, se colocaron los dos imanes, dejando listo el adorno para ser colocado sobre alguna superficie metálica.
