Hello everyone, it's been a while here, I hope you all are doing great? from my end here, I am actually, feels good to be alive and back here once again. I decided to share with you a wrap top I made.
The wrap top is a type of cloth that fits almost every body type and never goes out of style. Putting it on alone creates confidence;right from the way you wrap it, hence the name "WRAP". I love the elegance that comes with it and the freeness.
The measurement I used
Length 20 inches, my bust is 34 inches, waist 26 inches, it didn't get to the hip side, there was no need for the hip measurement. The first thing I did was to fold my fabric into four considering the biggest measurement which is the bust, then I mark out all my measurements, I made the neck 3 inches wide and 2 inches in depth, I cut out the back first as I have done in the first slide, after which I placed the back on the folding of two to cut out the front.
For the front piece, I arranged it into two places, bust divided by 4, minus two to determine where the rope wil be, I went up by three inches, for the neck, which is in the form of a "V" when shaping it, for the upper part, I moved down by 6 inches, then I drew the line down to know where the extension will be starting from. The neck width is the same, it is just the neck depth that is different, so I connected the 6 inches down to the 3 inches I marked down, then I cut it out by tracing it, the bust, waist, armhole and top length are the same for both the front and back.
The sewing
The first thing I did was to join the shoulder (the front and back) together by 1/2 inch then I folded in from the 3 inches I mark from the down, I made it tiny, the 3 inches is where I attached the rope, then I join the sides with the 1 inch I left for the allowance, then I join the sleeve which is a straight sleeve, the long ropes went round my waists, then I folded the down part. I definitely love the look after it.
