This time it is about snowflakes made with soda cans, I made 3 different models and in the end I put lights inside them to illuminate and the result was very satisfying, I want to share with you the whole process, I hope you like it like it!
Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, también deseo que hayan tenido unas felices fiestas de navidad, yo la pasé muy bien en compañía de mi famila, y ahora después de una buena resaca jejeje me he puesto manos a la obra para compartir un nuevo trabajo. Esta vez se trata de unos copos de nieve realizados con latas de soda, hice 3 modelos diferentes y al final en el interior de ellos puse luces para que iluminaran y el resultado fue muy satisfactotio, quiero compartir con ustedes todo el proceso, espero que les guste!
PROCESS
To make the snowflakes, I first made some templates on normal paper, it can be letterhead or cardboard, although paper is preferable because it is easier to fold several times and then cut. From the sheet of paper I extracted 4 pieces of 10 centimeters on each side, since soda cans are small so to be able to use them well, the templates had to be the same size. To measure and then cut exactly we can help with a ruler.
Para hacer los copos de nieve primero realicé unas plantillas sobre papel normal, puede ser hoja de carta o también cartulina, aunque es preferible el papel porque es más facil de doblar varias veces para luego cortar. De la hoja de papel extraje 4 retazos de 10 centimetros por cada lado, ya que las latas de soda son pequeñas así que para poder utilizarlas bien las plantillas debían ser del mismo tamaño. Para medir y luego cortar de manera exacta nos podemos ayudar con una regla.
Now the next step is to fold the paper to make the template. First, the paper is folded in half from one end to the other, resulting in a triangle shape, then one of the ends is folded to one side, exactly up to 75%, in the same way the other end is folded but to the side opposite and from the rear, resulting in a small cone. Then with scissors we cut the excess so that it is perfectly outlined, here we can make the drawings with pencil and make the model that best suits us. On the internet there are countless models, but because of the size of the paper I choose a simple one so that it is not difficult to cut, but there are more elaborate models that when finished are extremely impressive.
Ahora el paso siguiente es doblar el papel para realizar la plantilla. Primero se dobla el papel a la mitad de un extremo a otro, resultando una forma de triángulo, luego se dobla una de las puntas hacia un costado, exactamente hasta un 75% , de la misma forma se dobla la otra punta pero hacia el lado contrario y por la parte trasera, resultando un pequeño cono. Después con unas tijeras cortamos el sobrante para que quede perfectamente delineado, aqu´pi podemos hacer los dibujos con lápiz y hacer el modelo que mejor nos parezca. En internet hay infinidad de modelos, pero por el tamaño del papel escojo uno simple para que no sea dificil de cortar, pero hay modelos más elaborados que al ser terminados son extremadamente impresionantes.
I made 3 models in total and to start I chose the one with the simplest design, when I drew it I began to cut it with scissors, once finished I opened it at all its ends, although the design is very simple when expanded it looks very good. Later, with a little glue, I adhered it to a red tin and then began to cut little by little with scissors until I completely removed the shape of the snowflake. Next, with a ruler I made some lines in the middle of the snowflake to give it another more molded shape, also using the tip of a ballpoint pen and pressing very hard.
Hice 3 modelos en total y para empezar escogí el de diseño más simple, al dibujarlo lo comencé a cortar con la tijera, una vez terminado lo abrí por todas sus puntas, aunque el diseño es muy simple al expandirlo se ve muy bien. Despúes con un poco de pegamento lo adherí en una lata de color rojo y despues comencé a cortar poco a poco con la tijera hasta sacar por completo la forma del copo de nieve. Seguidamente con una regla hice algunos trazos por la mitad del copo para darle otra forma más moldeada utilizando también la punta de un bolígrafo y presionando muy fuerte.
Then, to give the snowflake more body and volume, I made another aluminum pattern to glue it on the other side, using instant glue and holding it very well with some tweezers. At each end I put a little glue and I was joining one by one until the snowflake was like this, the goal is that later I can introduce some lights.
Después para darle más cuerpo y volumen al copo de nieve hice otra patrón de aluminio para pegarlo por el otro lado, usando pegamento instantáneo y sujetandolo muy bien con unas pinzas. En cada punta puse un poco de pegamento y fui uniendo una por una hasta conseguir que el copo de nieve quedara de esta manera, el objetivo es que después pueda introducir algunas luces.
Secondly I took a more complex model that when opened has a 6 pointed star in the center. Following the previous process, I drew the pattern and then cut it with scissors. When I expanded the paper, I glued it to a yellow tin to vary it a bit and thus I took out one of the faces. Then I took the same template and put it on a green tin to get the other side of the snowflake, having both models, I also made lines on top of them with a ballpoint pen to be able to fold it to finally join both sides with glue.
Tomé en segundo lugar un modelo más complejo que cuando se abre tiene una estrella de 6 puntas en el centro. Siguiendo el proceso anterior dibujé el patrón y luego corté con la tijera, al expandir el papel lo uní con pegamento hacia una lata de color amarillo para variar un poco y así saqué una de las caras. Luego tomé la misma plantilla y la puse sobre una lata de color verde para sacar la otra cara del copo de nieve, al tener ambos modelos, también hice trazos encima de ellos con un bolígrafo y poder doblarla para al final unir ambas caras con pegamento.
Then I finished making the last model, this one came out a little smaller, approximately 8 centimeters. When I had them ready, I began to place them in different parts of the Christmas tree where I could better introduce the lights and thus illuminate them.
Luego terminé de hacer el último modelo, este me salió un poco más pequeño, de 8 centímetros aproximadamente. Al tenerlos listos comencé a ubicarlos en diferentes partes del árbol de navidad donde pudiera introducir mejor las luces y así lograr iluminarlos.
FINAL WORK
After the correct location of the snowflakes I proceeded to turn on the lights and as you can see the result is wonderful. You always have to take advantage of the Christmas lights to make any kind of figures and thus better decorate our home, you can not only make snowflakes, but also small trees, reindeer, or houses, the possibilities are too many. Using lights to illuminate something adds a touch of magic to whatever we do. Después de la correcta ubicación de los copos de nieve procedí a encender las luces y como pueden observar el resultado es maravilloso. Siempre hay que aprovechar las luces navideñas para hacer cualquier clase de firguras y así decorar mejor nuestro hogar, no solo se pueden hacer copos de nieve, también pequeños árboles, renos, o casas, las posibilidades son demasiadas. El hecho de utilizar las luces para iluminar algo le da un toque de magia a todo lo que sea que hagamos.
