Hola, queridísima comunidad #DIYhub. Espero que estén teniendo un buen inicio de semana. Hoy les quiero mostrar un proyecto que hice con una silla plegable que tenía su forro bastante deteriorado.
Hello, dearest #DIYhub community. I hope you are having a great start of the week. Today I want to show you a project I made with a folding chair that had its lining quite deteriorated.
Para este proyecto usé los siguientes materiales:
- Máquina de coser.
- Hilo.
- Lápiz.
- Regla o cinta métrica.
- Telas.
For this project I used the following materials:
- Sewing machine.
- Thread.
- Pencil.
- Ruler or tape measure.
- Fabrics.
Paso 1:
Desarmé la silla con la ayuda de mi hermana mayor y le sacamos el forro. Con este mismo tomé lo que serán las medidas para el nuevo forro.
Step 1:
I disassembled the chair with the help of my older sister and we took the lining out. With this same lining I took what will be the measurements for the new lining.
Paso 2:
Ya teniendo las medidas tomadas, tomamos nuestras telas y procedemos a cortar. Yo como no tenía telas nuevas usé unos jeans viejos que mi mami tenía guardados y no usaba, también un mantel que estaba por ahí lo usé para la parte de atrás como refuerzo. Las medidas fueron 1,40 cm de largo por 45 cm de ancho. Empaté algunos pedazos para dar con la medida exacta.
Step 2:
Already having the measurements taken, we took our fabrics and proceeded to cut. Since I didn't have any new fabrics, I used some old jeans that my mom had saved and didn't use, and also a tablecloth that was lying around, I used it for the back as reinforcement. The measurements were 1.40 cm long by 45 cm wide. I tied some pieces together to get the exact size.
Paso 3:
En este paso teniendo las 2 telas cortadas del mismo tamaño, uniremos y coseremos sólo los costados hacia lo largo del lado revés para luego darle vuelta y pespuntaremos.
Step 3:
In this step having the 2 fabrics cut to the same size, we will join and sew only the sides together lengthwise on the wrong side and then turn it inside out and backstitch.
Paso 4:
Cuando ya hayamos hecho todo lo anterior doblaremos las puntas unos 7 cm hacia atrás donde quedará la tela de lado trasero. Pasaremos la puntada de zigzag y luego la puntada recta. Yo para reforzar bien pasé unas 3 líneas ya que mi máquina es doméstica y en estos trabajos a veces salta las puntadas en las partes gruesas.
Step 4:
When we have done all the above we will fold the ends about 7 cm backwards where the back bottom fabric will be. We will pass the zigzag stitch and then the straight stitch. To reinforce it well, I used about 3 lines since my machine is domestic and in these works sometimes skips the stitches in the thick parts.
Paso 5:
Con el forro viejo medimos donde irá el dobles de en medio para el tubo del asiento y hacemos el mismo procedimiento de antes en nuestros nuevo forro.
Con esto ya tenemos nuestro forro listo. Solo queda armarla y la tendremos lista para usar por otro buen rato.
Step 5:
With the old lining we measure where the middle doubles for the seat tube will go and do the same procedure as before on our new lining.
With this we have our liner ready. It only remains to assemble it and we will have it ready to use for another good time.
Recomendaciones:
Si su silla es desarmable, tome fotos antes de proceder a desarmarla y no les vaya a pasar como a mí, que la desarmamos entre mi hermana y yo y luego no sabíamos cómo armarla, pero lo logramos jajaja.
Use telas resistentes, ya que si usa telas delgadas o blandas es probable que se nos dañe rápido nuestro forro.
En mi caso, como algunas partes, sobre todo en las puntas de las costuras, la máquina se me trabó, usé una aguja gruesa y manualmente hice una puntada dando varias vueltas para reforzar.
Recommendations:
- If your chair is disassembled, take pictures before proceeding to disassemble it and do not go to happen like me, we disassembled it between my sister and me and then we did not know how to assemble it, but we did it hahaha.
- Use resistant fabrics, because if you use thin or soft fabrics it is likely that our lining will be damaged quickly.
- In my case, as some parts, especially at the ends of the seams, the machine got stuck, I used a thick needle and manually made a stitch giving several turns to reinforce.
Espero les guste esta idea. La realicé con mucho cariño para mi padrastro, ya que acá en casa decimos que ese es su trono. Es la única silla donde él se sienta a ver la TV colocándole almohadas, incluso se duerme allí cuando llega del trabajo muy cansado.
