Happy New Year to the wonderful DIY community. I am excited to share my first DIY entry of the year with you all. This is also my first class of the year with my pupils at Top Mark Academy and it feels amazing to start the year teaching and creating. For this session I taught my pupils how to make a fascinator hairband that requires patience creativity and attention to detail. Even though it looks classy it was not a difficult one at all. It is a simple DIY that anyone can make in just a few minutes and step out confidently wearing it.
Materials used
Hairband
Glue wax
Artificial flowers with attached feathers
Procedure
I picked up my hairband. Then I lit my candle in place of the glue gun since there was no electricity to power it
Next I marked the spot where I wanted to place the artificial flowers. I melted the glue wax over the candle flame and applied it under the artificial flower. Immediately I pasted the flower onto the spot I had already marked on the hairband
Once it was properly fixed the fascinator hairband was ready
Teaching this class was very fulfilling for me. Seeing the pupils focus and proudly admire their finished work reminded me why I love DIY so much. It is not just about crafting but about building creativity confidence and skill.
I look forward to sharing more classes projects and creative moments with you all this year.
