Weekend DIY -- Cat Tower / Tunnel

Another weekend for me so I have time for another DIY project. You see we have these three boxes that I didn't want to throw out. My cats actually inspired me to create a cat tower / tunnel for them. A few months back, I bought an expensive cat bed for them, but they preferred sleeping on old boxes. I certainly didn't want to spend a few thousands on a cat tower that would not be appreciated.

My daughter was the designer of this cat tower / tunnel. I was the one who turned the design into reality.

I found this cat shaped mold in one of the boxes so I decided to use that for the holes. The medium box was what I worked on first. I needed three holes on it: on top (top exit), on the side (to connect to the big box), and on the bottom (for bottom exit).

Here I attached the medium box to the bottom box. It's for the bottom entrance / exit. I used a marker for the shapes. Then, a box cutter to cut out the marked areas. Packaging tape was added in places to secure the attachments.

The top exit hole was also placed so we could look in to see what the cat/s were up to. 😹😹 Voila! The three boxes were attached together as shown below.

Most designs look good on paper, but are they any good when it comes to use? Well see for yourself on the video below...

I had fun watching Bon, the adventurous kitten. 😹😹 it's more fun thinking I got to save some moolah 🤓🤓 hope to share more DIY projects I could come up with in the near future.
