↑Original Heat pump, it would heat but not cool↑
My day yesterday
Watered both veggies and flowers, came in had a second cup, then I went out and rolled the BIG ac unit(pictured above)
that we'd taken out of my wall around to the corner of my studio building)
(Covered it for the night)
where there was a 220 outlet (I did the first leg last night,)
then Rex and myself pulled it around the rest of the way.
Background; my "home warranty company said that the unit wasn't made any more, and they couldn't find the parts to repair it, and wanted me to pay more for them to cut my wall and install a unit like you'd find in a motel room under the window... I fired them"
97° in the shade. Code Orange alert for air quality
While he replaced the switch and Thermostat, I handed tools, and held an umbrella to shade the both of us as best I could. Supplied cool water.
He got it working, so it seemed, enough that we wheeled it BACK here to my back door, UNDID all we did a few days ago (That ac unit was helping keep it from being abysmally hot during the day, at night it was comfortable but...I'd bought the parts for the old unit so why not.)
The warranty company had hired an ac company who said they couldn't find replacement parts; I went online found and purchased them
Small unit out, original monster back in the hole in the wall, and now it's like an icebox back here, it's on low cool, thermostat set at almost as high as it will go without switching over to the heat settings. Currently 72°
that was yesterday afternoon
Last night, I had it running all night, it was as before, on low cool, with the thermostat almost straight up. This is a heat pump, so it will heat and cool.
When I woke up, it was 71°, I sit here right now with all fans and ac off, and it is 74°.
↑↑Repaired and Reinstalled↑↑
I'll turn it back on closer to noonish.
Up front, it is more like 76°, same as outside right now
All this just illustrates that you can do a lot on your own if you put your mind to it, and you network with friends, neighbors and family. People will help most times if asked. #thoughtfuldailypost
