Como sabrán, hace poco cumplí mi sueño de hacer porcelana fría casera, y desde entonces he estado experimentando y creando muchas cosas. Hasta me surgió la idea de realizar una prueba de emprendimiento, con la que me ha ido muy bien y que hasta el momento me ha dado muy buenos resultados.
As you may know, I recently fulfilled my dream of making homemade cold porcelain, and since then I have been experimenting and creating many things. I even came up with the idea of starting a small business, which has been going very well for me and has yielded great results so far.
Hoy hice, a petición de una amiga, un dije de pandita con un toque de mi estilo. Sin lugar a dudas, fue un proceso muy divertido y enriquecedor para mí. Hubo errores, pero también muchos aprendizajes y aciertos, y eso es lo que importa.
Today, at the request of a friend, I made a panda pendant with a touch of my style. Without a doubt, it was a very fun and enriching process for me. There were mistakes, but also many learnings and successes, and that’s what matters.
Ya había hecho uno con anterioridad, que por suerte quedó muy hermoso también, y ya que el resultado fue bueno y me di cuenta de que tenía la suficiente conciencia de cómo se elaboraba para poder explicarla y recrearla, decidí hacer un segundo amiguito para poder tomar registro del paso a paso, hacer el DIY y compartirlo con ustedes. 🤍🖤
I had made one previously, which luckily turned out very beautiful as well, and since the result was good and I realized I had enough understanding of how it was made to explain it and recreate it, I decided to make a second little friend to document the step-by-step process, do the DIY, and share it with you. 🤍🖤

- Porcelana fría.
- Arito para dije.
- Pintura al frío gris blanca y negra.
- Pinceles delgados para delinear.
- Barniz acrílico de uñas.
- Lámpara UV.
- Polvo brillante (o sombra blanca satinada)
- Estecas y utensilios puntiagudos para modelar y pintar. (Mondadientes, alfiler)
- Cold porcelain.
- Charm hoop.
- Cold paint in gray, white, and black.
- Thin brushes for outlining.
- Acrylic nail polish.
- UV lamp.
- Glitter powder (or satin white eyeshadow).
- Sculpting and painting tools (toothpicks, pins).
• PROCEDIMIENTO • 🤍✨🖌️• PROCEDURE •
Vamos a tomar una porción de la masa del tamaño que ustedes quieran; no necesiten. En mi caso es bastante pequeño. Haremos una bolita y luego daremos una semi forma ovalada con nuestros dedos. Ahora introduciremos el arito en la parte superior de la cabeza y, con ayuda de los dedos, nos aseguramos de sellar bien el espacio que queda para que se sostenga como es debido. Posteriormente, tomaremos una porción aún más pequeña de masa para el hocico; lo haremos un poco ovalado, pellizcaremos un poco la parte de arriba y luego haremos una pequeña hendidura en medio en la parte inferior. Quedará un poco como un corazón. Quedará así.
Let's take a portion of the dough in the size you want; it doesn't need to be precise. In my case, it's quite small. We'll make a little ball and then give it a semi-oval shape with our fingers. Now, we will insert the ring at the top of the head and, with the help of our fingers, make sure to seal the space well so that it holds properly. Next, we will take an even smaller piece of dough for the snout; we will shape it a bit oval, pinch the top a little, and then make a small indentation in the middle at the bottom. It should look a bit like a heart. It will look like this.
Ahora teñiremos otra porción de porcelana fría de color negro utilizando témperas, colorante alimenticio o pintura acrílica.
Now we will dye another portion of cold porcelain black using tempera, food coloring, or acrylic paint.
Moldearemos dos pequeños círculos que aplastaremos entre nuestros dedos índice y pulgar, y los colocaremos a los costados, o bien, en las esquinas superiores del hocico. Luego haremos, con una pizca de masa negra, la naricita que será un ovalito pequeño colocado de forma horizontal.
We will mold two small circles that we will flatten between our index finger and thumb, and place them on the sides, or in the upper corners of the snout. Then, with a pinch of black dough, we will make a small oval for the nose, placed horizontally.
Con el resto de la masita negra haremos dos pequeñas pelotitas a las que daremos, luego pellizcando uno de sus extremos, una forma de gotas. Con ayuda de una de las estecas puntiagudas hundiremos los centros. En mi caso, como ya la masa se había secado un poco, tuve que adherir las orejas utilizando pegamento blanco.
With the rest of the black dough, we will make two small balls that we will then pinch at one end to give them a drop shape. With the help of one of the pointed tools, we will indent the centers. In my case, since the dough had dried a bit, I had to attach the ears using white glue.
Ahora lo dejaremos en un lugar donde haya un buen flujo de aire fresco para que se sequen por completo. Te las recomiendo que lo dejen un día o, como mínimo, 14 horas, aunque también depende del tamaño y el flujo de aire que haya en el lugar.
Now we will leave it in a place with good airflow to dry completely. I recommend leaving it for a day or at least 14 hours, although it also depends on the size and airflow in the area.
Este es el momento de comenzar a pintar. Para los ojos usaremos la esteca que tiene la pelotita en la punta; aplicamos pintura blanca y daremos dos toques en cada ojera del panda, preferiblemente más cerca del hocico, para que no tenga mirada de loco XD.
This is the time to start painting. For the eyes, we will use the tool that has a small ball at the tip; we apply white paint and give two dabs in each eye socket of the panda, preferably closer to the snout so that it doesn't have a crazy look XD.
Mientras los ojos se secan, aprovecharemos para dibujar los detalles del hocico del panda con pintura gris y uno de los pinceles más delgaditos. La idea es pintar una raya al medio para trazar la separación de su hocico y también acentuar la forma de corazón de la parte de abajo del hocico.
While the eyes dry, we will take advantage of this time to draw the details of the panda's snout with gray paint and one of the thinner brushes. The idea is to paint a line down the middle to outline the separation of its snout and also to emphasize the heart shape at the bottom of the snout.
Ahora vamos a añadir el iris del ojo, de color negro; pueden hacerlo con la misma esteca o con la cabeza de un alfiler.
Now we will add the iris of the eye in black; you can do this with the same tool or with the head of a pin.
Esperamos a que se seque bien y ahora toca hacer el iris o brillo del ojo en forma de estrellas. Se traza primero un punto con el color blanco y luego, con ayuda del alfiler y el mondadientes, después de haber agarrado pequeñas cantidades de pintura blanca con las puntas, haremos cada punta de la estrella. Al final quedaron más como unas flores, pero igual me pareció muy bonito el resultado. Le agregué un par de puntos blancos para dar más efecto de brillos en los ojos y listo.
We wait for it to dry well, and now it's time to make the iris or shine in the eye in star shapes. First, we draw a dot with white paint and then, with the help of a pin and a toothpick, after picking up small amounts of white paint with their tips, we will create each point of the star. In the end, they looked more like flowers, but I still thought the result was very pretty. I added a couple of white dots for more sparkle effect in the eyes, and that's it.
Por último, solo debemos sellar y proteger nuestro trabajo con barniz acrílico para uñas. Damos una capa primero a las zonas negras, sellamos con la lámpara y luego damos unas pinceladas de barniz en todo el rostro para posteriormente sellar. Como última misión, solo sellaremos la parte de atrás con barniz, y ya está listo nuestro pan pan.
Finally, we just need to seal and protect our work with acrylic nail polish. First, we apply a layer to the black areas, seal it with the lamp, and then apply some strokes of polish all over the face to seal it afterward. As a final step, we will just seal the back with polish, and our panda is ready.
Este es nuestro hermoso resultado final. Si me lo preguntan, el estilo de este panda me recuerda mucho al estilo de dibujo de Steven Universe, que es una de mis series favoritas, así que quizá inconscientemente de allí se me ocurrió la idea de hacerlo de esta manera tan particular.
This is our beautiful final result. If you ask me, the style of this panda reminds me a lot of the drawing style of Steven Universe, which is one of my favorite shows, so perhaps unconsciously that’s where I got the idea to make it in such a particular way.
