Greetings!!!
Hello guys and welcome to my blog. Renovations at my hostel room still continues, about a couple of days ago, I made a post about how I changed a faulty switch board in my room. Today I’m here once again to show you guys how I attached the plug head to naked wires. Initially had planned to do the changing of the faulty switch board and the attachment of the plug head. But the electrical shop didn’t have the needed material. So today I visited the shop and luckily for me, I got what I wanted.
Step 1
The first step we need to take is to make sure we cut off the old and rusty wires off. And expose the new ones.
Step 2
We have three wires. blue, brown and light green. If you take a look at the plug, you will notice the same colors blue and brown on metal plates. This is a clear indication of where each wire is going.
Step 3
So let’s start with the brown wire, the brown wire is mostly attached to the fuse, and just below it you can see a small hole where are supposed to push the wire right in and screw a nut on top of it to hold it. To make it very easy, take the entire fuse and nut off, fix the wire and put it back in. Like the screenshot below
Step 4
Now we move on to the blue wire, unlike the brown wire where we took the entire set up out and fixed it back after inserting the wire, this one can’t be removed you just have to pass the wire through the other side of it. Like in the screenshot below. Make sure you screw the nut on top very tight to prevent it from removing in future.
Step 5
For the third wire, it’s relatively useless. You can decide to fix with to the third metal in the plug. Or you can choose to cut it off. I decided to cut mine off to save time.
Step 6
Using your tester, make sure you screw all the nuts back together to hold. Make sure it’s tight. This prevents loosening in the future.
Step 7
Connect the plug to an electrical source and confirm if it’s working. If it doesn’t lit up, it means you messed up somewhere and you need to go over it again.
And that is how you successfully connect naked wires to a new plug. Thank you for stopping by. If you have have issues or concerns regarding this or anything my comment section is always opened. See you on the next one. Thank you.
