How is your day going?, about 5 days ago I shared a tutorial on how to make a Christmas star using just paper. I received support and comments which I’m grateful for. Today I want to show you another peace of art I learnt back at High school when I was studying visual Arts. (If you were wondering why i know so much about origami’s it’s from high school ).
From the first blog I shared I received comments like the steps I provided looked complex, other users got lost during the steps well you needn’t worry about that because this one is very simple unlike the star even I had a tough time learning how to make the star.
Today I will showing you how to make a flower or rose using just papers (soft card board paper). This flower might come in handy on the 14th of February. So save and learn this tutorial. Without wasting much of your time let’s get into it.
Tools and Materials needed
As usual we don’t need plenty things in this tutorial. All we need is a pair of scissors, two pieces of soft card board paper, color pencils. If you have the colored card board paper it would be great and you needn’t use the color pencils again. However if you don’t I think you should use the color pencils.
Step 1
Take one piece of the paper and fold it diagonally to form a triangle shape. Do this for both ends, open it up and you should see a X shape on the paper see image below.
Step 2
Fold it diagonally again to form a straight edge triangle. Like the image below
Step 3
Take the left edge of the triangle and fold it upwards make sure it’s facing up. Do this for the right edge too. Like image below
Step 4
Take the second piece of paper fold it diagonally and open it . Like the image below
Step 5
Turn it sideways to look like a diamond shape. Pick up the left edge and fold it to the center line you see in the paper. Do this for both sides.
Step 6
Repeat step 5 again by folding from the left edge to the center, do this for both sides again. The image you should have should resemble a kite.
Step 7
From the top side of the kite like Shape, fold the top edges from the left to the center and from the right to the center.
Step 8
Fold the kite like shape downwards like the image below
Step 9
Fold it backwards and make sure it tight by pressing it.
Step 10
There is a pointed paper attached to the main paper. Take it gently and pull it out.
Step 11
Pick up the first paper we did and cut a hole at the bottom using the scissors.
Step 12
Fix the pointed part of the second paper into the hole we just created. I advise you bind it with a tape to prevent it from removing.
I colored the flower because I didn’t use the colored card boards. But if you use the colored card boards no need to color. You are good to go. That’s how we make a rose flower using paper.
