Hace poco fue mi cumpleaños y eso me hizo recordar algo que había preparado a finales del año pasado. Antes de comenzar el 2026 decidí hacer una pequeña carta para mi “yo del futuro”. Es un ejercicio que siempre me ha parecido muy bonito, porque a veces no somos conscientes de cuánto podemos cambiar o crecer en un año hasta que miramos atrás.
Esta carta la escribí a finales de diciembre de 2025 con la intención de abrirla al finalizar el 2026. Por eso el número 25 aparece en la portada, como una pequeña referencia al momento en el que fue creada. La idea es que, cuando llegue ese momento, pueda leerla y ver cuánto han cambiado mis pensamientos, mis metas y mi forma de ver las cosas.

It was my birthday recently, and that reminded me of something I had prepared at the end of last year. Before 2026 began, I decided to write a little letter to my “future self.” It's an exercise that I've always found very beautiful, because sometimes we don't realize how much we can change or grow in a year until we look back.
I wrote this letter at the end of December 2025 with the intention of opening it at the end of 2026. That's why the number 25 appears on the cover, as a small reference to the moment it was created. The idea is that, when that moment comes, I can read it and see how much my thoughts, my goals, and my way of seeing things have changed.

Para comenzar, marqué en una hoja blanca el rectángulo que sería la base de la tarjeta. Esta parte será la estructura principal donde irá todo el diseño. Luego doblé la cartulina por la mitad para formar la tarjeta. De esta manera se puede abrir y cerrar fácilmente, dejando espacio en el interior para colocar el escrito.
To begin, I drew a rectangle on a white sheet of paper, which would be the base of the card. This part will be the main structure where the entire design will go. Then I folded the cardstock in half to form the card. This way, it can be opened and closed easily, leaving space inside to write on.

Next, I cut two small rectangles out of brown cardboard and outlined them with black marker. These rectangles will go inside the card and serve as a background for the small pieces of paper where the letter will be written. I also feel that they give the card more support and make it feel less flat. Finally, I glued them inside.

Como es una carta para mi yo del futuro, quise agregar algunos elementos que me representan o que simplemente me gustan mucho. Quería que se viera como algo especial, algo que realmente diera ganas de abrir y leer. Por eso pinté varias pequeñas fresas en cartulina. Este fue uno de mis detalles favoritos de toda la manualidad. 🍓
Since it's a letter to my future self, I wanted to add some elements that represent me or that I simply like a lot. I wanted it to look special, something that would really make you want to open it and read it. That's why I painted several small strawberries on cardboard. This was one of my favorite details of the whole craft. 🍓

Por último, pegué las fresitas alrededor del corazón y añadí algunos pequeños puntos decorativos para completar el diseño de la portada, escribí lo que iría dentro de la tarjeta y listo.
Finally, I glued the strawberries around the heart and added some small decorative dots to complete the cover design, wrote what would go inside the card, and that was it.
