It was a great success to catch this rat. Because this rat is the biggest of all the rats I caught on the ceiling. And I think, this is the parent of the little rats I caught in the past few months and years ago.
This mouse trap is made of thick cardboard, and each corner is covered with thick light wood to prevent rat bites. Because the first bite of the rat is the edge because it is soft and easy to pierce.
DIY Mouse Trap
The first mouse trap I made was made from a plastic soda bottle three years ago at our former home. I watched it do from Youtube, and because of that, I caught the only big rat in our old home and threw it out of our yard in the trash.
The first thing I did was I took a cardboard that was no longer used in our office and some bamboo skews that I kept in the drawer. I originally made this mousetrap whose concept is from Africa in the hunt for snakes and birds.
I also used masking tape to wrap the cardboard tightly. And for some tools needed,
- Masking Tape
- Rubberband
- Used Cardboard
- Bamboo Skew / Hard Stick
- Clear thick Plastic
- Nylon / String
Those are the tools I used, it is up to you to know how to do it according to the picture I showed. There is only one thing I can be sure of and I can tell you if you follow what I did. All you have to do is make a small door for the rat, which can easily close with just a rubber band.
Say Cheese...
Are you afraid of rats? I am not afraid to touch the rat, but I am afraid when it moves fast and the disgust is his long tail. In order for it not to move completely, I decided to buy a "sticky foot mouse trap". The rat is definitely not lost in the second trap inside the carton in case he bites the carton to escape.
I was drowsy that night, and honestly, my eyes were closed when the ceiling suddenly rang but I didn't care because of the drowsiness. My wife just forced me to peek at the ceiling and she said she was sure the rat had been caught. And she was right, the rat was caught!
I immediately took the carton containing the rat and picture first before I took it out and threw it in the trash. This is the biggest and heaviest rat I have ever caught. And after that, there was no noise in the ceiling. I hope there are no rats left on the ceiling.
