Hello, how are you? Last time I experimented with the final design for the Gloom Charm Clay, I designed, and it finally clicked inside my head that this is it, this is the final, when I last posted the Gloom Charm I made, which is the strawberry one. I am so satisfied with it that I drew a lot of it in different kinds of things.
And today I decided to continue that series of Gloom Clay Charm, I am going to make a cactus charm, simple but cute.
Materials I Used:
- Polymer Clay
- Glass Sheet
- Weighing Scale
- Acrylic Stamping Block
- Brush
- Dotting Tool
- X-Acto Knife
- Soft Pastel
- Eyepin
- Oven
- UV Resin
- Gloves
- Mask
- UV Lamp
- Keychain
- Pliers
Craft Time!
I am going to use a little bit darker green for my Cactus Gloom. Knead the clay until the texture is soft, and then I smooth it out using my hand.
The outer part is supposed to be smooth like this, and then using an acrylic stamping block, I flatten it out just a little bit.
I shape it like this, and then place it above a lid to have just a little bit of elevation. After that, use the tip of the brush.
Press it until it creates a dent like this. This is where I am going to place the face of Gloom. Adjust the hole when needed later.
Time to make the face, first I am going to use a skin tone clay, and then I will weigh it for an accurate size.
Roll it around my hand to remove any creases or lines, just like I did earlier.
Then shape it into a head shape.
I grab the cactus I made earlier and then place that head inside the hole I made.
Then I added texture using a dotting tool.
Then I made the other parts of the cactus, but I forgot to document it.
Then I added texture to it too. And then I added a map to where I am going to place the eyes using the same dotting tool.
For the eyes, I am going to use dark brown clay. I cut a little bit of it using an X-Acto knife and shaped it into a tiny ball, and pressed it to where the map of the eyes I made earlier.
I do the same for the eyebrows.
For the nose, I use this pinkish clay, and then I cut a little of it, shape it into a triangle, but not too triangular LOL, and then carefully place it on the face.
And then cut the bottom part to make it like a nose using my X-Acto knife.
Then I added blush using pink soft pastels and a smaller brush.
Then I added the eyepin. After that, I baked it in the oven, making sure to follow the instructions on the packaging of the clay on how long and at what temperature to bake the clay.
Cool down the clay first before continuing to the next process. Time to add the UV resin, what I do is I pour enough of it onto the clay.
And then apply it using a brush.
Cure it under a UV Lamp for a few minutes. This is what it looks like better with a gloss coat.
Next is to add the keychain. What I do is I hoop in the jump ring along with the keychain and then lock it using my two pliers.
And done! This is what it looks like.
So cute!
I hope you like it. :D
