Hello, how are you? Months ago, I started painting the Gloom characters I drew. It was supposed to be made using clay, but that time I didn’t feel like doing clay, so I decided to make a series of acrylic paintings of the Gloom characters I drew.
Materials I Used:
- Canvas Panel
- Acrylic Paint
- Colored Pencil
- Paintbrush
- Tissue Paper
- 2 Jar of Water
- Palette
Craft Time!
I drew a cactus bloom in colored pencil, then toned the canvas with burnt sienna.
After that, I outline the drawing with a darker shade of color because it is pretty much gone after I tone up the canvas, LOL.
I start by layering the skin in the color of my choice, applying it until the color below is completely covered.
Then I painted the body with the darkest green I have.
Then I decided to paint the background, a purple or violet shade, in order to make the character pop out more.
When I am satisfied and up with the shade of the skin, I painted the eyes, nose, and eyebrows.
Of course, a cactus groom is not a cactus if it doesn’t have the thorn, so I painted it lighter than the body color in order to make it more visible.
For this part, I added the highlights and finished up some parts that I didn’t add enough shade to.
I wanted to add background design, but I think I like the focus on the character more.
I hope you like it! :-)…
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
