Hello, how are you? A Few weeks ago, I was craving pancakes so bad that I did not make it. LOL. I thought I had all the ingredients lying around our house, but one thing that discouraged me was that baking powder was out of sight, so I felt defeated and didn't do it.
To cope with the failed attempt, I just made clay out of it LOL. Yes, you heard me right, a clay keychain to be exact.
Materials I Used:
- Polymer Clay
- Weighing Scale
- Glass Sheet
- Needle Tool
- Lid of Gum Container
- Soft Pastels
- Brush
- X-Acto Knife
- Toothbrush
- Eyepin
- Oven
- UV Resin
- Disposable Gloves
- Mask
- Pliers
- Keychain
Craft Time!
Knead the dough using my hand, in clay art terms, they call it conditioning the clay, and then, as I always say, I like to weigh it. I am using it as a personal choice, hehe.
Roll it around my palm until the outer part of the texture is smooth.
This is smooth, and then, using my finger, I am starting to sculpt it just like a pancake.
With the help of the lid of a gum container, I press it down into a pancake shape, and I do the same with the other clay. I decided I wanted a three-layer pancake.
Using my needle tool, I added texture to the clay by running it around each side to create a texture like a dent.
As always, I do the same thing to the other clay too, and then I stack them. I like to do uneven ones because it gives a more realistic one.
And then I added shades to the pancake clay to make it look like the real thing. To make that happen, it makes sense to use soft pastels and a brush.
Keep repeating, layering it until the desired shades.
For the butter on top, I am going to use a light yellow and then cut it using an X-Acto knife.
Place it in the top middle of the pancake.
Using a toothbrush, I added texture using it.
And then I added the eyepin.
Bake the clay in a preheated oven and set the timer and temperature to what is instructed on the back of the packaging of the clay. Let the clay cool down first before proceeding to the next process.
After that, I am going to add the syrup to do that I am going to mix UV Resin and a soft pastel.
Mix until well combined.
Then apply that mixture to the top, dripping down the pancake to make it more realistic.
Cure it under a UV Lamp for a few minutes.
Time to add the keychain. I hoop in the jump ring along with the keychain. And then close it up using two pliers.
This is what it looks like, done, craving satisfied. I hope you like it.
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
