Hello, how are you? Whenever I am not home the next day, I always tend to be more productive, and today I did a lot of things I didn't expect to do. So to take advantage of that productivity, I do what I need to do LOL.
I promise myself that after the vacation, I am going to be productive, but wrong. I got sick and took a break from a lot of things. To make up for that, I draw oil pastel as much as I can. To be honest, I didn't have any strawberry photos from our trip so I just browse through internet and see what reference I can draw and I saw one so I draw it.
Materials I Used:
- Paper
- Oil Pastels
- Tissue
- Scratching Tool
Time To Draw!
Set the materials I am going to use so that I can acess it easily, and after that, I start outlining the reference by their respective color. And I start layering the base color of the strawberry. I like using a light color first to make the texture easier later.
In oil pastel, even if you mess up the color at first, you can always fix it by layering it with the correct color. What I did here is that I like to match the main color with its complementary color to make it look more blended.
I decided to go for purple or violet for the background, and I started adding more color to the drawing by adding highlights and shades to it.
I really like to add more shadows to the drawing to make it more dimensional, and that way, I can see what needs to be fixed on the drawing.
I just continue the process by simultaneously adding shades, highlights, and shadows to the drawing.
After that, I fill out the background just to make the drawing pop out more.
Using this scratching tool, I am going to add the texture and the highlights at the same time.
Close-up look at what I did to the texture.
I hope you like it :D
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
