Hello, how are you? Today I decided to make a clay keychain because I felt inspired to make a lot, but to my excitement, but that excite replace by disappointment, because my weighing scale decided to act up as I opened the battery compartment, the battery was totally in a weird shape, I have never seen a battery become like that LOL.
So today I am going to make a donut that I really wanted to make long ago, but failed at the first try. I am going to make a powdered donut with a strawberry jam filling that shows when you bite into it.
Materials I Used:
- Polymer Clay
- Glass Sheet
- Weighing Scale
- Gum Container
- Clay Tool
- Needle Tool
- Toothbrush
- Sticker
- Soft Pastels
- Brush
- Eyepin
- Popsicle Stick
- Liquid Clay
- Acrylic Stamping Block
- Tree Brush Tool
- Oven
- UV Resin
- UV Lamp
- Disposable Gloves
- Mask
- Pliers
- Keychain
- Piping Tip
Craft Time!
Condition the clay until the texture turns smooth, and after that, weigh it. If you don’t have a weighing scale, you can skip this part.
I am going to make the non-traditional donut, the one with a hole in the center, but the round one. I shape it using my two hands and place it on an acrylic stamping block.
These are the tools I am going to use for the texture, but first, I am going to use the needle tool to add texture to the middle of the body of the donut.
After that, I am going to use the tree brush tool and toothbrush to dap it lightly onto the donut to add texture to it.
To add the bite mark, I use the piping tip and press it onto the part I want the bite mark.
Then I created a hollow space in the middle for the strawberry jam filling for later using the tip of the body of my clay tool.
Using the tree brush toll I added texture to it to make it look realistic.
Just like I did to all the donuts I created, I taped a sticker around it.
I used soft pastel and a brush to add the realistic shade to it.
Then I added the eyepin.
To make the powdered sugar stick to the donut, I mix translucent clay and clear glue and mix them all together.
Then apply it on the top of the clay first using a popsicle stick.
Then I sprinkle a generous amount of powdered sand that I finely ground using my rolling pin and the glass lid I got.
This is what it looks like, and then I bake it into a over, but first I preheat the oven and set the timer and temperature according to what the packaging of the clay instructed.
Let the clay cool before proceeding to the next step, but after that, I cut baked red clay into small pieces that serve as strawberry jam chunks.
Then I mix red soft pastel, resin, and the clay I pieced earlier. Mix all together.
Apply it inside the bite and dent I made earlier using the needle tool.
This is what it looks like, spread it to make it look realistic.
And then cure under the UV Lamp for a few minutes.
To add the keychain, I placed the jump ring alongside it into the eyepin.
Then lock it using my two pliers.
I’m trying so hard to capture the right angle LOL.
This one too.
I like how it turns out, and I really do the right thing this time!
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
