It is already the Easter holiday here in Germany, and maybe in other countries too. All schools and kindergartens (Kita) here have Easter decorations. Some schools ask the kids to create or bring their own decorated Easter items for school, and here in Germany, it is more appreciated if you make something yourself (DIY) instead of buying it.
So my daughter and I crafted some Easter baskets using colored paper and a few stickers. Her teacher liked them so much, so I thought—why not share this idea with you guys, or with those who might still be thinking about buying Easter decorations?
This idea might help you. It is low-cost, and for sure someone—teachers, friends, or family—will appreciate this kind of handmade craft even more. Sometimes effort counts more than expensive things, right?
Let me show you the steps and materials to use:
Materials You’ll Need:
-Colored paper (any color you like)
-Scissors
-Glue or tape
-Stickers (Easter-themed if you have some 🐰🥚)
-Pencil
-Ruler (optional)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1:
Cut a square piece of colored paper (any size you prefer)
Step 2:
Fold the paper in half to create a clean center line.
Step 3:
Fold it again to form a smaller rectangle or square. This helps guide your basket shape.
Step 4:
Open the paper and fold it into sections (like a grid). This will help you shape the basket later.
Step 5:
Cut along the fold lines on the sides to create flaps (as shown in the picture).
Step 6:
Bring the sides upward and start shaping the basket by folding the flaps inward.
Step 7:
Glue or tape the sides together so the basket holds its form.
Step 8:
Cut a strip of paper and attach it to both sides of the basket to make a handle.
Step 9:
Add shredded paper or grass inside. Let kids help decorate—this is the fun part! 💕
Step 10:
Place Easter eggs or small treats inside your basket… and you’re done!
Tip:
Every basket will look a little different—and that’s what makes it special. Handmade with love always feels better!
Have fun crafting!🐰
Till next Time!😊
