For me, creativity is about turning common and ordinary things into something really beautiful. And this time, I challenged myself to make a jean trouser from scratch and cut out petal shapes and decorate them myself, and I'll share with you all how I did it.
This project I took upon myself to do was both fun and challenging, but I enjoyed every bit of it. And because of my love for fabric art, I had so much fun doing it and seeing the idea come to life.
I started this project by getting the denim fabric ready, measuring amd cutting oit all the pieces needed for this trouser
Next I marked out the design on the trouser using chalk, and then I cut the petals out using a pair of scissors
Below is how it turned out to be after I had cut the petals and fixed the zipper fly
Next I joined the back and front pieces together
I then added the waist band to the jeans and put it on the mannequin and it was looking good.
Next I got ready with my white paint, my pallette and my brush ready to start the painting.
So I started drawing the details. The paint I used is acrylic paint which really works on fabrics.
I used the paint to make a nice pattern close to the petals to create a beautiful design
Whan I was done with on leg of the trouser I moved straight to the second leg and did the nice details too.
Next I used a lighter to secure the edges of the petals so it does shred.
Then I used a spray paint to make a light white effect on the top of the jean and it added more beauty to it.
After all that below is how the trouser turned out, I loved the outcome and it felt really good working on it.
Doing this project I was reminded that creativity isn't just about talent, it's all about patience, love and paying attention to details. Watching it transform slowly made me enjoy the process and I'm glad I took you this challenge.
I do hope y'all liked it too, and I hope to see you in another post. Thank you for your time here.
