Hello Hive.
We are still in the festive seasons and although I had series of farm engagements I had to spare some time to make Salah outfits for my friends.
What are we friends for if I cannot sew for them for free, well maybe that can continue enjoying my skills for now but with time I might have to take some tokens for working their clothes when I have a store of my own, because is will be servicing some tax by then.
Moving on this is the third Outfit I am designing.
This person doest have much to buy even the cheapest Jalamias worth of $10, fabrics are expensive way more than her budget as well but luckily we can use African prints that are much affordable to make beautiful designs.
We have this African print fabric left for a design we have sewn for a wedding since 2yeaers back, the blue print was still looking lovely and neat, so I went ahead to cut it into her own measurements and sew.
Prior to this day I have recently be overworked by too many engagements and almost wishing that I did not take this outfit to sew for her but I chose to sacrifice my sleep.
I slept late last night and woke up very much early to continue this work.
Guess what?
While working with my sleepy head, the pressing iron burnt a portion of the cloth along the waste line.
At that shock I became fully awake and aware of the current situation.
Placing a call across to her I narrated the ordeal.
Am just glad that she understands and asked me to worm out on how to correct the burnt Ares since the fabric is now limited.
Been a designer you just have to find the solutions to design problems like this, I thought about some lovely appliques to be attached to the burnt waist line.
Although it is to conceal the mistake but it will also look beautiful just like I have it there.
Although my friend was dissapointed that she couldn't wear this outfit for Salah, she was more understanding that I made an effort and have gone extra Mile for here.
I have sewn a darted flair dress for her and it is looking lovely already
What do you think of this?
Are there times you have disappointed your friends?.
