Lo bueno de todo es que les comparto cositas de utilidad, como por ejemplo esta cesta con palitos de brocheta que finalmente terminé hoy y que está destinada para la habitación de Miranda, específicamente para mantener organizado el material que utiliza para sus exposiciones del liceo como cartulina, papel bond, foamy, etc.
Yep, it’s me again! The thing is, I’ve got loads of bits and bobs to share and my phone’s gallery is bursting at the seams, so hang in there, everyone! The good thing is that I’m sharing useful bits and pieces with you, such as this basket with skewer sticks that I finally finished today and which is destined for Miranda’s room, specifically to keep organised the materials she uses for her school exhibitions, such as card, bond paper, foam board, etc.
Un proyecto bien sencillo, un poco tedioso de realizar, pero sin dudas muy lindo, y lo mejor de todo es que aparte de ser decorativo tiene utilidad, así que genial no? Y para no aburrirnos con tanta charla, vamos con los materiales y el paso a paso.
It’s a really simple project, a bit tedious to make, but definitely very pretty, and best of all, as well as being decorative, it’s actually useful – so that’s brilliant, isn’t it? And so as not to bore you with all this chatter, let’s get straight to the materials and the step-by-step guide.

Como les comenté arriba este es un trabajo un poco cansón, porque básicamente es una cesta hecha con palitos de brocheta en forma de rejilla, así que hay que cortar y pintar muuuuchos palitos, y lo primero que hice fue justamente pintar todos los palitos de brocheta con el color rosa, y para esto utilicé el pincel y di dos capas de pintura a cada palito.
As I mentioned earlier, this is a bit of a tedious job, because it’s basically a basket made from skewers arranged in a lattice pattern, so you have to cut and paint loooads of skewers. The first thing I did was paint all the skewers pink; I used a paintbrush and applied two coats of paint to each one.
Lo siguiente que haremos será trabajar en la base de la cesta, y para esto cortaremos
5 palitos de 20 cm y 6 palitos de 13 cm. Y para el armado realizaremos en principio un rectángulo, y para evitar complicaciones con las medidas utilicé una cartulina con cuadrículas lo que me permitía mantener todo en su lugar y colocar la pega en el lugar justo, y para armar el rectángulo coloqué en primer lugar un palito de 13 cm de forma horizontal y a cada extremo de éste pegué un palito de 20 cm y finalmente uno de 13 cm en la parte inferior para finalizar el rectángulo.
Algo a tomar en cuenta es que tanto los palitos horizontales deben ubicarse de la misma forma, es decir, los horizontales arriba y los verticales abajo o viceversa.
Next, we’ll work on the base of the basket, and to do this we’ll cut
5 sticks measuring 20 cm and 6 sticks measuring 13 cm. To assemble it, we’ll start by making a rectangle, and to avoid any issues with the measurements, I used a piece of grid-patterned card, which helped me keep everything in place and apply the glue exactly where it was needed, and to assemble the rectangle, I first placed a 13 cm stick horizontally and at each end of this I glued a 20 cm stick, and finally a 13 cm stick at the bottom to complete the rectangle.One thing to bear in mind is that the horizontal sticks must all be positioned in the same way; that is, the horizontal ones at the top and the vertical ones at the bottom, or vice versa.
Una vez listo el rectángulo pegué el resto de los palitos verticales tomando en cuenta que debo colocarlos en el mismo lugar que están los otros, y para que quedaran bien ubicados hice uso de la cuadrícula y con un lápiz marqué dónde debería pegar los palitos, y de esa forma estuvo listo este paso.
Once the rectangle was ready, I stuck on the rest of the vertical sticks, making sure to place them in the same spots as the others. To ensure they were positioned correctly, I used the grid and marked where to stick the sticks with a pencil, and that completed this step.
Lo que sigue es pegar los palitos horizontales que son los más pequeños y utilizaremos el mismo procedimiento, marcamos dónde los vamos a pegar y en este caso como loa palitos van a pasar por encima de los otros es necesario colocar pega en cada uno de ellos para que tenga más firmeza nuestra cesta y de esta forma está lista la base.
Next, we need to glue the smaller horizontal sticks in place, using the same method: mark where they are to be glued. In this case, as the sticks will be placed on top of the others, it is necessary to apply glue to each one to ensure our basket is sturdy. And with that, the base is ready.
Seguidamente vamos a realizar los dos lados más anchos de la cesta y en este caso vamos a utilizar para cada lado 8 palitos de 20 cm y 6 de 22 cm y realizamos el mismo procedimiento que usamos para elaborar la base y por aquí les muestro en la última imagen cómo se ve ya pegada una de las rejillas a la base.
Next, we’re going to make the two widest sides of the basket. For each side, we’ll use 8 sticks measuring 20 cm and 6 measuring 22 cm, and we’ll follow the same procedure we used to make the base. Here, in the last image, I’ll show you what it looks like once one of the frames has been attached to the base.
El siguiente paso es realizar las dos rejillas más angostas y para cada una de ellas utilizaremos 5 palitos de 22 cm y 8 palitos de 13 cm. Y para elaborar esta rejilla seguimos el procedimiento anterior., y con las tres rejillas restantes listas el último paso es pegarlas a la base y entre sí, y de esta manera tenemos lista nuestra cesta con rejillas, bien moderna y súper linda para decorar y mantener ordenada la habitación de Miranda.
The next step is to make the two narrower grids; for each of these, we will use 5 sticks measuring 22 cm and 8 sticks measuring 13 cm. To make this grid, we follow the same procedure as before. Now that the three remaining wire mesh panels are ready, the final step is to attach them to the base and to each other. And there you have it: our wire mesh basket is ready – a really modern and super-cute way to decorate Miranda’s room and keep it tidy.
Como ven es un proyecto fácil de hacer y que pueden realizar en diferentes tamaños y darle diferentes usos según lo necesiten, así que no duden en realizarla en casita.
