Two years ago I made a fairy house at a library craft session. (Details can be found here). I always thought it would be cute to have a fairy, or a bird, or a mouse, peeking out of my fairy house door/window, but couldn't find anything suitable. This spring I happened to see a package of fairies at the local dollar store, and thought they might work. I used a bit of cardboard for a "shelf" and a craft stick to prop it up, and lots of hot glue. I am pleased with the results.
Since I made the fairy house at the library, it seems appropriate to have a fairy who is reading a book. If you compare the first photo to the one in my link, you will see much fading has taken place over the course of two summers out in the sunshine. I don't really mind; I think it looks more natural this way. Some day I may make another fairy house, but right now I am content with just this one.
