Hello, #diyhub friends, it's a pleasure to greet you again. Today I want to share with you a project that combines utility and style, since today I made a phone charm. These accessories have become indispensable not only for aesthetics but also to prevent accidental drops. The best thing about this design is that it uses very inexpensive materials and the process is so simple that anyone can make it at home in no time.
Materiales:||Materials:
- Un pedacito de acetato
- Tijeras
- Hilo cola de ratón, color rosado y morado
- Cuentas y algunos otras decoraciones
- Una cuerda de zapatos
- Un ganchito para llavero
- Cinta adhesiva, regla y lápiz
- A small piece of acetate
- Scissors
- Pink and purple rattail cord
- Beads and other decorations
- A shoelace
- A keyring hook
- Adhesive tape, ruler, and pencil
Paso a paso//Step by step
Paso 1️⃣
Step 1️⃣
The first thing I did was prepare the acetate sheet by folding it exactly in half. The idea is that this piece will go between the phone and the case, so it has to be the right size. Acetate is great because it doesn't break easily.
Paso 2️⃣
Step 2️⃣
Using a pencil, I marked the exact spot where the charging port comes out. I cut out the acetate following that T shape, but upside down. To ensure it lasts a while and doesn't get damaged too quickly, I secured the edges with tape. This prevents the material from constantly rubbing against the case. The idea is for it to be strong enough to support the full weight of the device.
Paso 3️⃣
Step 3️⃣
Now comes my favorite part: adding color and decoration. I used a shoelace as the central base because of its thickness and comfort. I started a flat knot weave using purple and pink rattail cord on one side. I decided against a pattern; I wanted each side to have a different personality. In the center, I incorporated a heart-shaped hook, which adds a sweet touch. On the other end, I placed pink beads between simple knots to add sparkle and texture. 😊
Paso 4️⃣
Step 4️⃣
Finally, I made the final touches by burning the ends of the threads so they wouldn't come loose. If you prefer a more elaborate design, you can weave the entire rope, but I decided to leave sections of the rope visible.
Resultado final//Bottom line
I am very satisfied with the result. It is a lightweight, secure accessory that definitely enhances the aesthetics of my phone. It’s an excellent option for a personalized gift or even to start a small accessory business. I hope this tutorial has inspired you. Go ahead and create your own and match it with your favorite style! Thank you for reading and joining me in this creative process☺️🩷
