Hello and welcome, DIY Hub friends! I hope you're having a great day. Today I want to invite you to join me in this fun project to create a board game that, where I'm from, we call "La Vieja" (The Old Lady).
I remember that when I was in school, this was one of the most popular board games at the time, besides Stop. The game "La Vieja" (The Old Lady) not only entertained us during our breaks, but it also required concentration to win using logic. I also remember that board games were our go-to games at school; if we weren't playing La Vieja, we were also playing Ludo, dominoes, chess, Monopoly, memory cards, and Uno. It's also worth noting that we didn't have the phones we have now, so we had to find other ways to entertain ourselves.

Paso 1:Hacer la bolsita
Step 1: Make the little bag
My idea for this board game is to make a little bag. The bag will hold the game pieces, and it will also serve as the game board. For this, I used red fabric from a pair of pants. The good thing is that the fabric is sturdy and will work well. Using a ruler, I cut it into a square, leaving the hem to attach a string. Then I sewed it on the sewing machine, and that's how the little bag is finished.
Paso 2:La parte del tablero
Step 2: The board part
Then cut a piece that was the same size as the little bag, and with the ruler mark squares that will be the same size, then sew with zigzag stitch where you marked, so that it will look like a checkered board.
Paso 3: colocar el tablero y la cuerda
Step 3: Place the board and the rope
Next, I placed the piece with the squares onto the little bag, using liquid silicone to attach it. You could also sew it, but I found it easier this way. I also attached the drawstring that will close the bag.
Paso 4:hacer las fichas
Step 4: Make the cards
Now we need the pieces to play with. For this, I used black and white felt. The x's are black and the circles are white. I marked the circles on the white felt and then cut each one out; there were 5 in total. For the x's, I just cut several strips to form the x's; I also made 5 of those.
So this board game is finished! Now all that's left is to try it out and play. You can take this game anywhere and have a great time. Let me know what you think in the comments. I'll be looking forward to reading your feedback about whether you played the old version or if you know it by another name. Thanks for visiting this post.
