Look what quarantine made me do! Lol!
A few days ago, after watering the plants, I scrolled on Youtube and searched for DIY phone holder tutorials. I was looking for the origami phone holder but I found a much easier tutorial with a very easy material.
I assume most of us have tons of toilet paper rolls laying somewhere since there's a hoarding of toilet paper due to the pandemic.
Don't throw them out yet! Because we can recycle them into phone holders! There's actually tons of DIY crafts you can do with this material but for now we will turn it into a phone holder since it is what I need.
Luckily, they haven't thrown the toilet paper roll here in the room. I decided to make because I have to bring my phone when I take a bath to see the time. That's because I always lost track of time and end up longer in there. LOL! I made a decision that I need to fix this behavior and tracking time will solve it. I borrow my mother's phone holder before but I don't like borrowing things as much as possible so I find a way to have my own for free! And you can dispose and replace it anytime.
Aside from my reason, a phone holder makes phone usage convenient especially when you hold it for a long time to watch videos and whatnot. It frees your hand from phone slavery. (Lol what am I saying?) On a serious note, it refrains from causing strain on your hands. It also helps you multitask since your hands are free!
Okay! So if you don't have a phone holder and want to have one right now without going out and risking yourself (most stores are closed too), just follow this tutorial.
It's the easiest DIY, I promise! So don't be lazy!
All it takes is 6 cuts of scissors!
MATERIALS:
Toilet Paper Roll
Scissors
STEPS:
1.) Fold the toilet paper roll in half or flatten it.
2.) From the longer side, cut a slanting slope to the middle of the tissue roll. Then cut straight from the opposite side to the center to remove the top part.
And from the center where the slope and straight corner meet, cut about half inch down. Then move a half inch away and cut another half inch down.
This will create flaps on each side. We don't need those so cut the flaps.
3.) Unflatten the toilet paper roll and return it to its original cylindrical shape.
Tadaaa!! You're done! You now have your own and earth-friendly phone holder!
Just make sure the center of your phone is on the toilet paper roll, otherwise, your phone will fall on one side! Some flaws but it's better than getting hand pain or the carpal tunnel syndrome.
Here's the tutorial video I followed for my toilet paper roll phone holder.
