I've been working from home for more than ten years now. In our previous place, I had a mini office space under my loft bed. It was something I designed, and my father and his friend helped me realize it. However, we moved to the countryside last December as our old place was flooded.
Since then, I've been using this small table as my workspace. It's useful, but it's not comfortable and spacious enough for my needs. I wanted to have a long office table where I could use as a storage, a place to work, and even do my art. We have a spare room at our new place, which I'll be using as an office and an art studio, but renovating it would take time and money... and to be honest, I don't have the budget for it yet. So for now, I wanted to make a table which I could also use there when I transfer.
A few days after my birthday, my bestie from the US sent me some money as a gift. I wanted to get a useful remembrance for it, so I bought some materials for the table.
About 3 minutes on foot from our house, there's this hardware or construction shop. My father and I went there to buy some materials we needed to build the table.
My father started working on the frame in the morning.
And, I helped in the afternoon, after doing the other stuff that I needed to do that day. :) We were able to finish it that night. However, I also bought some white paint, and planned to paint the whole table the next day.
This was my progress before lunch. The area becomes quite hot at noon, so I decided to take a break and just continue painting it at around a quarter to three in the afternoon. By then, it wasn't very hot, and the area was in the shade.
I resumed in the afternoon and finished painting every part of the table. I also double-coated the upper and front part. I decided to paint it white because I'm planning to paint some designs over it one of these days. :)
I let the paint dry fully and transferred it to my room at night. Well, I used acrylic paint, so it's quick to dry.
Here's how it looks in my room now. :)
I have an area for work, and an area to paint. There's also a storage space below.
I could place other stuff like papers, sketchbooks, and books that I could save from the flood. As for the other side, I left them empty because I love putting my feet up to feel more comfortable, especially since my chair isn't. hahah
Now, I have a much bigger table for my work and my hobby. I don't have to keep my art materials and other stuff on the floor anymore.
Thanks, bestie, for sponsoring this table, and to my father, who helped me make it. :) What do you think about it? It's now ready to be transferred to the office once we have renovated the other room. I'll need more space for my future bed someday, so this long office table won't stay here then. But I'll keep using it for sure.
I'm also excited to paint some doodles on it! hahaha Yes, white looks good, but I prefer the messy and artistic one!
That's it for now. Thanks for reading, and see you around! (^^,)/
