Ya gracias a Dios, luego de algo de tiempo ausente, estoy nuevamente por acá, y bueno, en esta oportunidad les quiero compartir una compra que hice recientemente, algo de verdad muy sutil, muy pequeño, pero demasiado, demasiado útil; se trata de un IRIG.

Se preguntarán ¿qué es? bueno, este aparatico que pueden ver en las imágenes, es básicamente una interfaz de audio analógica, les explico rápidamente, como pueden ver viene empaquetado de forma muy sencilla en una bolsita de plástico, con un manual y el IRIG. Consta de dos entradas y una salida, la entrada de la parte de abajo en donde está el signo de guitarra es la entrada por donde entra la señal que queremos grabar, y en la parte de arriba está la otra entrada que es por donde uno se monitorea por medio de unos audífonos, y tambien esta la salida de audio que es ese cable de Jack de 3.5 el cual tiene el IRIG que por donde sale la señal que queremos grabar. Antes de explicarles como funciona también le tome una foto al manual, aunque la verdad no especifica mucho, básicamente dice los cables que se deben utilizar a la hora de utilizar el IRIG.
Ahora si, les explico cómo funciona con un ejemplo, supongamos que quiero grabar una pieza de guitarra en mi teléfono, lo que haría es conectar mi guitarra por la parte de abajo en donde está el signo de guitarra, mientras que por la salida de audífonos conecto unos audífonos, los cuales me van a permitir monitorear lo que estoy tocando, mientras que el cable Jack de 3.5, que es el que envía la señal que quiero grabar, lo voy a conectar a mi teléfono o computadora, para así poder grabar todo, en este caso como pueden ver, está conectado al teléfono, y allí con mi aplicación de grabación de preferencia voy a grabar todo, y lo importante de todo es que la señal que se estaría enviando al teléfono para ser grabada con la aplicación, sería una señal completamente limpia, ya que esta pasa directamente al IRIG, y de allí al celular en este caso, por lo que la grabación quedaría limpia, sin ruido de fondo, y completamente de alta calidad.
Y no solamente eso, las posibilidades de verdad son infinitas, osea, osea aplicación que se le puede dar es grabar ensayos o hasta presentaciónes en vivo, básicamente una vez que todo esté listo y tenga todos mis instrumentos conectados a la consola, lo único que tuviera que hacer es tomar una de las salidas auxiliares, o de monitores de la consola, y a través de esta enviar la señal al IRIG, mientras que este va a estar conectado al teléfono o a la computadora grabando toda la mezcla de manera limpia, y así obtienen una pista completa sin ruido, y de alta calidad. Otra cosa importante, asegurarse que los niveles de envío de cada canal de la mesa de mezclas no sean tan elevados, para que no vaya a haber distorsión en la grabación.
Y bueno solamente son ejemplos de lo que se puede hacer con ella, porque la verdad que las posibilidades son muchísimas; también hay una aplicación de guitarra la cual se llama TonerBridge Guitar Effects, la cual también fue creada con la intención de usarse con el IRIG, consiste básicamente en lo que les dije solo que un poco diferente, es una aplicación para ensayary tocar exclusivamentecon la guitarra, como pueden ver en la foto me aparece un pedal, y a este le aparecen conectados 2 cables, el cual uno de ellos representa y se refleja solo si el IRIG esta conectado al teléfono, y esta aplicación nos permite escoger entre cientos de pedales digitales para guitarra, solo hay que conectar el IRIG al teléfono, conectar la guitarra a su entrada, y los audífonos para de igual manera monitorearnos, y lo increíble de todo, es que cuando nos estemos monitoreando, vamos a escuchar a la guitarra pero con el efecto seleccionado en el teléfono.

And not only that, the possibilities are truly endless. I mean, you can use it to record rehearsals or even live performances. Basically, once everything is ready and all my instruments are connected to the console, all I have to do is take one of the console's auxiliary or monitor outputs and send the signal to the iRig, which will be connected to my phone or computer, recording the entire mix cleanly. This way, you get a complete, noise-free, high-quality track. Another important thing is to make sure the send levels of each channel on the mixing console aren't too high, so there's no distortion in the recording.
And these are just a few examples of what you can do with it, because the possibilities are truly numerous. There's also a guitar app called TonerBridge Guitar Effects, which was also created to be used with the iRig. It's basically what I described, but a little different. It's an app for practicing and playing exclusively with the guitar. As you can see in the picture, there's a pedal icon with two cables connected to it. One of these cables is only visible if the iRig is connected to the phone. This app lets you choose from hundreds of digital guitar pedals. You just connect the iRig to the phone, connect the guitar to its input, and use headphones to monitor yourself. The amazing thing is that when you're monitoring yourself, you'll hear the guitar with the effect selected on the phone.
