Yeah is your girl veemahfashion and i have come to share my little knowledge about one thing that I love so much which is fashion and designing.
Fashion in my own understanding is the total transformation of ones physical outlook which starts from one's inner mind down to the outward appearance bringing out the whole beauty in a person.
Yeah so today I have come to explain to us how i made this beautiful kaftan bubu gown.
I achieved this clothes with the following items;
--- my tape roll
-- my scissors
--- my tailors chalk
--- my measurements book
-- the ankara fabric am working with
This is a kaftan bubu gown together with hand so i folded the ankara fabric into four.
i have three yards of ankara fabric that am working with and ankara comes in forty five inches (45") and the length am working with is thirty eight inches with two inches allowance for hemming at the down.
When cutting a kaftan bubu gown, you don't need a zipper allowance you fold into foir equally, mark the full length your working with, go back to the top and mark your shoulder divided by two and mark from there you come down by one point five inches (1.5") mark.
Now from that shoulder you mark you measure fourteen or fifteen inches for the sleeve and from that one point five you came down from, which is the shoulder slope, you slant it down to meet that fourteen inches you marked earlier.
Now from there you measure ten to twelve inches for the sleeve opening.you extend the lines with your ruler to the folded edge and input your burst round circumference divided by four plus four inches allowance.
this is because it's kaftan bubu,so it has to be free a little on your body.
Form the top also you measure seventeen inches for the waist , you input your waist round circumference divided by four plus four inches and from the top also you take twentyfour inches for the hip,divide it by four and add four inches allowance.
Now you make your curve ,go through your work once more and then you cut it out and move straight to the sewing machine to sew the clothes.
I continued by cutting out a fine design for the front pocket and also for the front of the cloth and i also turn it with a black linning taking out the two inches allowance i added at the down for hemming.
So guys after joining the whole piece , the kaftan bubu gown came out this beautiful.here is the final look guys.am happy is beautiful.
