Hello lovely family . Wishing you all a happy new week. It's your favourite crochet artist
.
I love crochet. Not as a hubby but, passionately inlove with what I do.
People see just yarns, But when I see yarns, in my head, I can picture myself creating magic. Because starting from that moment, I already have thousands of thoughts on what I can bring to life with my yarns.
Alot of crochet beginners always want to jump into something big. They want to start making big projects forgetting everything has process especially when it comes to art and craft.
YOU WILL NEED THIS TOOLS:
The right hook size.
The right stitch.
The right pattern.
The right colour.
Including the right yarn.
This tools I have listed, are the first puzzle a crochet artist needs to solve before starting any project.Today, I will love you all to join me in this journey of how I achieve this beautiful crochet pattern.
This pattern is a weekly challenge given to us by the admin of a crochet community I belong.
And I would love to share with you all, my lovely family how I became the winner of this challenge in the community. Grab a seat and your popcorn everyone.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Yarn.
- 3.5mm hook.
- A pear of scissors.
- And.... Well no snacks today.π
NOTE: There are crochet terms you will be coming across in this tutorial which are: chains, single crochet (SC),turn over, double crochet tong (DC-TONG), stitch, stitches and treble crochet.
STEP 1: I made a slip knot.
STEP 2: I chained 17.
STEP 3: In the second chain from the hook, I placed a single crochet. Then, I single crochet all across the row.
At this point, I'm already in love with this colour."cofee brown" you can never go wrong with it.
STEP 4: I chained 3, Turn my work, I skipped the first 2 stitches, in the next stitch,I place 3 double crochet tong.
STEP 5: I chained 3, and in the next stitch, place a 3 dc-tong.
STEP 6: I skipped 3 stitches, in the next stitch, I placed 3 dc-tong, chain 3, then in the next stitch another 3 dc-tong.
STEP 7: I repeat the same process one more time. Then, I skipped 1 stitch. In the last stitch, I place a treble crochet.
STEP 8: I chain 1, turn over and single crochet all across.
Oh my! I'm inlove with this pattern. And I feel like using a tool here. Yeah colours. At this point suddenly want to play with colours. So I switched my yarn to butter colour.
STEP 9: I changed my yarn, chained up 3, turn over, I chain 1, In the first stitch, I placed a 3 dc-tong.
I skipped 4 stitches, And in the next stitch, I placed 3 dc-tong, chain 3, in the next stitch another 3 dc-tong.
Okayy something inside me does not like this colour I added. And something inside of me asked me to trust my instinct. So I trust my instinct.
STEP 10: I skipped 3 stitches, in the next stitch, I placed 3 dc-tong,chain 3 and in the next stitch, I placed another 3 dc-tong.
I skipped 4 stitches, in the last stitch of the row, I placed 3 dc-tong, chain 1 and into the same stitch, I place a treble crochet.
I chain 1, turn over and single crochet across the row.
I repeat the entire process from step 5-10.
Wow! I love my instinct.ππ
And tadaa π this is the result.
Oh! My goodness. I love it and I'm sure you do too. So tell me why I won't be the winner of the challenge.
πππ Don't mind the write ups I'm the baby of the house in the crochet community. And kinda, the loud one. But I'm sure they love me that way.βΊοΈ
A quick one.
In crochet terms, what I just did is called swatch. And this swatch is rated with... Choice of colour, neatness, background and tension. So you see just as I have said in the beginning of this post. Those tools are very important as a crochet artist.
When I wanted to start this pattern I choosed orange colour. In the picture below, look at how my work appears. Yeah! It looks nice but not for this pattern. The colour didn't mix up with the pattern at all. So I had to change the colour.
And I'm glad I did.
Thank you all for joining me till the end of this tutorial. I love this pattern so much and I hope you enjoyed the process too. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. I remain your favourite crochet π§Ά artist.
Bye for now.
All pictures are mine.
