Hello family you're all welcome to my blog. It's been a while and guess what? Your favourite crochet artist has been busy with Ramadan sales.
As a young lady building her brand, and with the change of environment. I decided to strategize with my skills.
Sales have been really low since the year began but that is business for you.
just like the saying “everyday is not a Christmas.” So times like this, you don't give up as a business owner.
If the mountain doesn't go to Muhammed then Muhammed will go to the mountain. haha!😂🤭
If my customers do not locate me, I will locate them.
So I said to myself “since it's Ramadan season and I'm in an environment filled with muslim brothers and sisters, why not crochet muslim hats for the brothers.
My mum's shop is very close to the mosque and that gives me a good opportunity. When I display my hats. It will be very hard to pass by without taking a look.
Let's dive into the procedure of how I crochet this beautiful Muslim hat.
At the end of my post I will give you all the full gist, how my hat disappeared before my eyes. (I mean i sold everything the same day I made them and more orders kept coming in🤭☺️).
MATERIALS USED:
❤️ Yarn
❤️ 3.0mm hook
❤️ A pair of scissors
❤️ And darning needle
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1:I made a magic ring.
STEP 2: I chain 3 (which stands for our first double crochet) then I place 11 more double crochet in the circle. (Thats 12 double crochet)
Then I slip stitch into the 3rd chain of the first chain 3 to close the row.
STEP 3: To start row 2, I chain 3 and in the same stitch I place one double crochet.
STEP 4: In each stitch, I repeat 2 double crochet across the row. The. I slip stitch in the first double crochet to end the row.
STEP 5: Row 3.
I chain 3. In the next stitch I place 1 double crochet. Then I chain 2 in the next 2 stitches, I place 1 double.
I chain 2 again and in the next 2 stitches I place 1 double crochet.
I repeat 1 dc in 2 stitches, chain 2, 1 dc in 2 stitches across the row. Then I end with a slip stitch.
STEP 6: Row 4.
I chain 3. In the next stitch I place 2 double crochet. I chain 2 and I place 1 double in each of the next 2 stitches.
I chain 2 again and I place 2 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches.
I repeat the process across the row and before I end with a slip stitch I added 1 more double crochet to complete 4 double crochet.
STEP 7: I chain 3. Then I place 1 double crochet in the next 3 stitches. In the 4th stitch i place 2 double crochet.
I chain 2 and place 1 double in each of the next 2 stitches.
I chain 2 again and place 2 dc in the first stitch, 1 double crochet in the next 3 stitches and 2 double crochet in the 4th stitch.
So in this row I repeat (2dc, 1 dc in 3 stitches and 2 dc in the 4th stitch).
STEP 8: I repeat the same pattern as row 5 in row 6 and 7.
2 dc, 1 dc in the middle stitches, 2dc in the last stitch. Then chain 2 , 1 dc in the next 2 stitches.
STEP 9: To start row 8, I chain 3 and place 1 double crochet in all the stitches across the row. In every chain 2 space, I work chain 2, and double crochet in each stitch.
STEP 10: Row 9. I chain 3 and place 1 double into 8 stitches. I skipped the last stitch, chain 2 and placed 2 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches.
I chain 2 again. I skipped the first stitch and placed 1 double crochet in 8 stitches, I skipped the 9th stitch, chain 2 and placed 2 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches.
The pattern has changed here because I was decreasing and increasing just to give the hat a beautiful design.
And repeated the process until I have 10 stitches and 2 stitches in the chain 2 space.
I place double crochet into each stitch to give the hat a fitted edge.
Finally I work 3 rows of single crochet in each stitch.
I weave in my ends and tadaa we are done.🎉🎉🤭
I love this hat so much.
It's soft and fits so well.
At first I thought no one would like the pattern or hat. In fact I was discouraged.
But someone stopped to take a look. He loved the blue one and asked me to keep it.
I said to myself "he might not come back."
But he did. Immediately I sold the blue hat. I was excited.
One of my mum's clients who always comes to get fruit salad also stopped by and requested a blue hat.
He wanted the exact colour the first customer came to buy.
Immediately I concluded he must have seen the hat and liked it.
And just like that more orders kept coming in.
I turned my mum's shop into a crochet store for Muslim hats. Haha!🤭🤭 And just like that I sold 14 hats.
Indeed my business strategy worked.
Words alone can't explain the joy I felt when I saw the Muslim brothers slaying my craft with confidence.
I also crochet a hat using twine for the same pattern. And it came out nice.
Thank you all for reading until the end.
I will appreciate your thoughts in the comment section. Bye for now.
