Hello Diy family! It feels so good to be back here again. It's been a while and I miss you all. Most especially, I miss sharing my crochet crafts to you all. School and exams stress gat me so busy and as if the stress wasn't enough, I travelled back home and the network was so terrible, π I couldn't come online.
But guess what? I'm officially back. And today, I will be guiding you all on how to crochet a granny square.
I know as a none crochet artist, it might sounds like a granny thing.
But trust me it doesn't look granny at all. And like I always say, believe the process.
This is going to be a beginner friendly tutorial do grab your popcorn.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE
MATERIALS NEEDED:
. Yarn
. Scissors
. 3.5mm hook
. Measuring tape
. And some snacks to help relax.ππ
NOTE: There are some crochet words you will be coming across in this tutorial which are: chains, double crochet (DC), turn over, slip stitch.
STEP 1: I made a magic ring.
STEP 2: I chain 3 which stands as my first double crochet. Then, I place 2 dc into the magic ring. (Total 3 DC)
STEP 3: I chain 1, and place 3 double crochet into the magic ring.
STEP 4: I chain 1 and again I place 3 double crochet. I repeat this process until I had a total of 8 groups of double crochet separated by a chain 1 space.
STEP 5: I chain 1 and slip stitch in the 3rd chain of the first chain 3 of the round. I pulled my yarn to close the circle.
STEP 6: I chain 1, turn my work and slip stitch into the same space. I chained up 3, which count as my first double crochet. Then I place 2 double crochet in the same space. (Total 3DC)
STEP 7: I chain 1, skipped the next 3 double crochet, then I place 3 double crochet into the ch 1 space. I chain 2, and in the same space, I place 3 dc.
( From this row, I started adding corners to the circle. Turning it into a square)
**STEP 8: **I chain 1, skipped the next 3 double crochet, and in the chain 1 space I place 3dc.
STEP 9: I chain 1, and create another corner. Which is 3 double crochet, chain 2, 3 double crochet in the same space.
STEP 10: I repeat step 7 and 8 until i have for corners and giving a square shape. To end the row, I slip stitch on top of the 3rd chain 3 of the row.
STEP 11: I attached another colour of yarn (You can use any colour combo of your choice. I made use of butter colour, carton colour and coffee brown) then I chain 3and place 2 double crochet.
(Total 3DC)
STEP 12: I chain 1, and place 3 double crochet into the ch 2 space. In the corner space, I place 3 double crochet, chain 2, and 3 double crochet in the same space. ( Because it's a corner and in every corner it's always 3dc, ch2 and 3dc. While in each chain 1 space it's just 3dc.)π€π€
**STEP 13: ** I continue increase my rows by repeating 3 double crochet in the chain 1 space, the 3 double crochet, chain 2, and 3 double crochet in the corner. By changing my colours of yarn in each row.
As you can see our work is coming out nice.π
No doubt I don't regret choosing this colour.ππ₯Ή
Wow the cofee brown indeed added more beauty.
And Tadaa π π
