Greetings everyone, it's a privilege to share with you guys my 3D creation of a smiley face.
None of us would deny the fact that we use some of these smileys in our daily chats with friends, family and loved ones. Most of the times we use it to express our emotions towards someone or how we really feel about something that most of the times can't be conveyed in words.
These emojis sparks us our chats and texting and if you are fortunate enough to communicate with me as a close friend or circle, then you can attest that I can't do without these emojis when texting. Except it's a formal conversation and I want to keep it strictly formal then you wouldn't find it in my messages, aside from the formal setting, I'm also a lover of smileys.
So today I decided to create one. I want to have these characters in my portfolio with different expressions, so with time when I have the chance I will create other emotions and expressions.
For today's emotions, I captured a surprised face with really sparkling and dazzling eyes as well as the looks.
I am sharing my work process with you so you see my steps on my 3D creation

Work Processes

First thing I did was add a sphere, Voxel remeshed it to have more vertices and then smoothen it.
I used the inflate brush to create the hollow opening that serves as the eye sockets, after which I smoothen again because the hollow I created left sharp edges that needed smoothening.

I added yet another sphere, voxel remeshed the sphere, smoothened and resized to fit into the eye sockets, and those were the eye balls.

Then I used the tube tool to create the curves for the eyebrow, I reshaped and resized it to give me the eyebrow shape I wanted. I then remeshed it, smoothen and readjusted the curves.

I also made an opening for the mouth region, I made it longer but not too wide to capture the surprised expression. I made enough space and opening for where the tongue would rest

Yet again I used the tube tool to create the two hands on its face. I did some adjustments here and smoothening to get the curved hands perfectly well

In this step I used the tube tool to create the tongue then I used the transform tool to resize it in width and depth. I later used the crease brush to create the line that evenly divided the tongue.

This is when I started my painting. For the eyes, I used mask tool to paint the different colours one after the other.I then painted the skin, started creating the shadows and highlights on the skin and painted the tongue too, using pink colour

I finished my painting here. All the necessary highlights and shadows were created and I also touched the cheeks with a little blush using a very light pink colour

And finally I added a base and background for my character, I also added and adjusted the environment light to leave reflection and shadows on my character
