Not a whole lot to day today, dear Felines and Hoomans of the Hive... I have mostly been lazing around in the sun. The Dad-Hooman decided that the nice sunny weather meant he should do yardwork all day, so I "guarded" the house while he was out!
Just a happy cat in the sun...
I really do appreciate all the attention my previous post about the importance of us all promoting Hive "off-site" got!
I believe we have something wonderful here... but we can't rest on our laurels.
Maybe the best approach is to each cater to the audience where we have the most "authority." For example, I can reach a fair number of people in the "cat fanciers" community.
It may not sound like much if I can talk five people into posting cat photos on Hive... but if you multiply that by every one of our active members, that soon adds up to a large number.
I do love my sunny spots!
The "other side of the equation" is to help have an active and engaging community here for newcomers to land in.
I remember when I arrived on Steem there were activities like "Newbie Resteem Day" and all manners of programs for newcomers to get involved with, with lots of contests and challenges, often run by a large group of more experienced members.
We need to get back to more of that, which is why I am not only encouraging cat content, but also encouraging those who post cat content to post to at least one of Hive's Cat Communities.
Of course, I hope you'll choose to join my own Hive Cats Community! We're up to 14 subscribers, so far, but we need a lot more!
