I've begun to think His Majesty considers this His room now, He sleeps up there quite a lot.
This is my old single bed mattress which is in my front/sewing room now.
Earlier in the day this was taken, after the normal in and out, "come feed me daddy" leg rubs, then a period of time with me dragging strings or tossing balls (inside the house) He came in HURRIEDLY, running behind me to my sliding glass back door where He stood looking out and growling.
As He passed behind me, He made a strange sound, like a person trying to clear their throat.
I noticed at that time, an area on his left hip, where the hair seemed swirled with something, it wasn't oily nor sticky, but He damned well did NOT want me touching that spot.
I went out and looked around (also checking my cameras) but could not see anything amiss.
Since I noticed some "picked" spots along his spine fur, I thought that a bird had been harassing Him.
Then He disappeared, I found Him lying in the sun in the front room.
He looked so adorable, I just had to rub down His back
Again, He did not want me anywhere near that spot, which had begun to look swollen.
I now worried that He'd gotten a copperhead bite, but it isn't quite time for them to be active.
His Majesty remain in that room, in that spot with me checking on Him every few hours.
At His appointed supper time, I had to take His bowl in there and blow over it for the smell to entice Him to come eat.
He did, but I don't think He went outside nor drank any water.
At 1 AM, I went in there and messed with Him until He got up and came back to my bed, where He remained until early morning.
Now, He is almost back to normal, but I watched Him as I let Him out my back door this morning.
Standing on all four feet, He was gingerly lifting that left rear paw/leg, then putting it back down, like it was hurting Him.
I can sure relate to that feeling in my hips and legs.
That night, I had sorta resigned myself that He could possibly die from whatever happened.
I was not Happy, as HE is one of the more pertinent factors preventing me from taking some Dire Steps myself. Who would take care of Him if I were gone?
But this morning, He brought in a butterfly, so I guess He is well.
I don't normally allow animals on my counters, but this was special circumstances.
I guess I need to get back Tuit ()
