A week has passed since Kitten Crypta has been home
The end of last week, on Friday morning, I encountered a lost screeching kitten in my flat corridor. Ever since then, it’s been in my home, although I have been searching for someone to adopt it. As days progressed, even after posting about it in various social media groups, nothing happened on the way of it’s adoption. So, soon I named this kitten Crypta and well, in this week that passed Crypta had to undergo have some of it’s journey with me.
Crypta’s a pretty nice kitten to be a household Pet
By nature, though at first it was hesitant but very soon, it’s been a very friendly, playful, sweet, loving and in general a very good kitten that’s easy to manage. It took to me easily- following, interacting with baby meows while constantly showcasing friendly gestures, playing and climbing on me often to my lap and purring. It started using the litter by the very second day after I put it’s waste in the litter, which made things easy for me.
Successful first vet check up procedures done for Crypta, thanks to all the support received
However, after 5 days of it being at home, mostly in room quarantine, I decided to make it an even more adoptable kitty by confirming to all looking to adopt it that it’s a healthy kitty. This required a doctor’s checkup and administration of its first set of vaccines.
Thankfully, I got supported in this financially and was guided by other animal lover’s in my flat whatsapp group, so I was able to get it’s vaccination done at a convenient location near my home at a concessional rate.
Two people even contributed for Crypta’s first check up, understanding that I already have two adult cats at home and bearing their expenses was enough for me, and the cost for Crypta’s check up, a stray kitten that I only intend to foster would be a lot for me.
Crypta, was a easy kitten to carry to the clinic, although it made a lot of fuss for the check up, which involved checking her temperature, getting the vaccine injections, and swallowing the deworming tablet which it had spat out at least 2-3 times before the tablet was successfully put down it’s throat. The little creature was 1.6 kgs and about 4 months of age, although to me it looks younger as it still makes baby meow noises.
**Crypta was certified as a healthy, good natured kitten by the vet and he said, it is very adoptable being a friendly and nice kitten. **
Toleration of Crypta by the two big cats of my household
Since then Crypta has been roaming my home, out of it’s room quarantine, and by now it’s much accepted by the two big cats of the house who were at the very first day, clearly not happy with Crypta’s arrival. One of the big cats, Mochu, hid in my room for a day without leaving the room much. My brown ginger cat Garu, was hostile towards Crypta, although there were no fights, just the usual hisses and stay away from me gestures. As days progressed, both the cats were watchful of Crypta from a distance.
Garu was chased by the little kitten often, and very soon he began to tolerate Crypta, although not getting friendly with her. Some cat sniffs followed with some hisses, and Garu running away from Crypta chases, but things had certainly warmed up.
Mochu clearly did not want to accept Crypta, although it tolerated her, as long as Crypta stayed away from him. However despite Mochu’s difficult Nature, it came to watch Crypta when it was playing as he too is a playful cat by nature. With these encounters happening daily, Mochu’s acceptance of Crypta was only a matter of time.
Crypta had received two of Mochu’s paw beatings a few days back, but of late, Mochu is not being rude to Crypta as it is also warming up to her.
However, this white cat did get into a little bad mood as it set about to beat Garu with its paws, which the latter completely ignored, but nothing more. Post hostility, Mochu always retreats into hiding so no major fights happen.
Ongoing hope to find Crypta a good home with loving care it deserves
While all this happened I have been posting on Animal and cat groups for the adoption of Crypta, other than a few likes there are no leads.
Although, Crypta thinks that my home is her home and I am it’s permanent trustworthy owner as she is getting very cosy. She keeps following me around, purring, settling on my lap, and she gives me a hard time when I am cleaning litter, jumping around on me, on litter, grabbing this and that and attacking this and that etc .
Whoever believes cats don’t like to be petted and don’t show love should meet Crypta, she is over friendly, besides being busy playing with toys, she’s active around you, demanding your attention, purring and coming to you all the time with her baby Meow interactions and gestures!!
Still hopeful that this Kitty gets adopted, finds a household who would adore her enriching company. You can’t not want a sweet cat that is friendly, playful, loving, healthy, it’s a soul that will enrich it’s owner with love and happiness. It would be nice, if the apodtion could happen soon, just so that Crypta does not get attached with me, my other household members or my cats, all this is temporary as my hands are full with two cats. Although I am interested in only giving Crypta to those households who will care for her, keep her well and happy.
I hope you enjoyed this bit about kitten Crypta, here is the latest video of her!!
