Greetings, Community!
Nature is so wonderful; I never tire of saying it, writing it, and sharing it. It provides us with so many foods, like vegetables, fruits, and other nutrients, each offering vitamins, minerals, proteins, fiber, and other elements that contribute to the health of our organs and the well-being of every human being when we choose to be mindful of the food we consume.
Bananas, as many know, have many benefits regardless of how they are consumed: whole, in smoothies, or combined with other ingredients to enhance their effects on the body. When we decide to be mindful that our bodies need movement—whether through walking, jogging, strength training, or other activities—we need to consume healthy foods. There are different ways to create a list of foods, including those we can have at home, those that are in season, or those we can find at the market, both fruits and vegetables.
Sometimes we're blessed to have neighbors with generous yards where banana plants grow. Since they grow in large bunches, they share them. When they arrive at my house, if they're ripe, I cut them up so they don't go to waste and put them in the freezer. There's always some on hand to make a smoothie when I get back from exercising.
Flaxseed is a common ingredient for many people to keep at home, also because of its beneficial properties and minerals. Rolled oats are another food we can use in many different ways. Thanks to food technology, we now greatly value what nature offers us and understand that the more natural, the better.
For this smoothie, I used:
2 bananas (one cut and frozen, and one at room temperature)
1 tablespoon of flaxseed (soaked in 3 tablespoons of water)
3 tablespoons of rolled oats
1 cup and 1/2 cups of water
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves (for sprinkling)
After gathering all the ingredients, we added the water, flaxseed, oats, and finally the banana to the blender. We blended it very well for two to three minutes.
Ya licuado, se procede a servir.
Once blended, we proceeded to serve.
Once poured into your favorite glass, we added the ground cloves. This gives it a different flavor, and cloves also have special benefits for the body. (You can use ground cinnamon instead.) Very delicious and with a very pleasant texture. This amount of ingredients serves two people.
