Soon after my SSC in 2011, I started my first ever tuition for which I got paid. Since then I am doing tuition or teaching in coaching centers till date. Getting salary from tuition was not my first priority ever. Doing tuition is like a passion to me. I generally want to help my students with life lessons including academic studies that may help them in their practical life. I want students to be a better human for which society could get help from him/her.
I used to teach in a regular batch for a while. So in the first class of all batches I had a common question, do you know yourself? How much do you know? Almost everyone raised their hands and said, they know themselves completely.
Then they were told, well, then tell me, three words, which will express you.
Then it is seen that most of them cannot say a word. Even those who say one or two are not sure of their own words!
I have to say with a smile, then how much do you know yourself? If you were asked on the interview board to say something about yourself, would you be stuck like today? Or if you are asked in a cup of tea, introduce yourself - what will be the answer?
If I ask myself the same question, the answer is - teacher, dreamer, friend. So at least I didn't go down without explaining myself first. Now the question is, how do you know yourself? The solution is simple. You too can know yourself comfortably if you do some small but necessary work.
Let's take a look at the works now-
Get an idea of your personality:
Your personality is your true identity to people. Whether you wear ripped jeans or a complete suit, your personality will set you apart from others. So have an idea about your personality. No one knows you better than you do as a person, so you have to keep your own news.
Express yourself in three words:
Try to express yourself in three words. If not here's a new product just for you! If not, one. Gradually you will see yourself in three words. Then wait. Write three words every day, see if there is any change in them. Change, in fact, you will know yourself in the midst of that change.
Get to know your likes and dislikes:
You need to have a clear idea of what you like, what you like to eat, what you like to do. As a child, my mother used to spread all the food with rice, I don't even understand what you are eating. Find out clearly what you like, what you don't like, discover yourself. Know your likes and dislikes as well as the likes and dislikes of the people around you. You also need to know whether you are always making decisions based on your own likes and dislikes or whether it is sometimes influenced by the likes of others. Only then will you know yourself.
Find out your strengths and weaknesses:
Self-assessment is a very important step if you want to know yourself. Find your good points, good qualities or characters. Then put the bad sides aside. Keep thinking about how to turn these bad aspects into good ones. This is how you know yourself, try to know. Only then will you be able to recognize yourself.
Set life goals:
What is the purpose of your life? If you don't know the answer to that question, then you don't really know yourself well. A man will know his own soul only when his goal is certain, and he will be steadfast, unwavering in that goal. So set your goals. If you want to be a doctor, go for it. If you want to be a teacher, go ahead on the path of teaching. Only then will you know yourself! You know what you want to be, where your passion is.
Thousands of people are finding themselves in the same way as Socrates said ‘Know Thyself’. Will you be one of them, or will you rise to the stage of success knowing yourself to be true? The decision is yours!
