The morning sun had barely risen. Birds were chirping, and a mild winter breeze touched the air. With backpacks full of essentials water, camera, snacks, and my travel notebook we started our journey. The dusty village roads glimmered under sunlight, and every puff of dust seemed to carry a hidden tale from centuries past.Along the way, we met locals who shared various stories about Dal Bari. Some said it once belonged to a powerful landlord family; others whispered that it was a secret meeting spot during the Naxalite movement.
Arrival at the Fourteen-Building Premises:
By noon, we finally reached the long-awaited destination Chowddo Bhobon Dal Bari. From a distance, we could already feel its grandeur towering gates, ancient brick walls, and faded carvings that still whispered of their royal past. Each building seemed to have its own soul, its own story. Some rooftops were covered in vines, some doors broken, yet every corner radiated pride and silent majesty.
We wandered through every corner, taking photographs, tracing our hands over the old bricks, and imagining the lives once lived here.
The smell of age and dust filled the air, but strangely, it felt peaceful almost sacred. As the sun began to set, the golden light fell on the aged walls of Dal Bari. The red bricks glowed warmly, and it felt as though the past itself was saying goodbye to the day. Before leaving, we made a promise This journey doesn’t end here. In the next part, we’ll uncover its hidden stories the landlords’ legacy, the legends, and the mysteries lost in time.
