The available literature does not offer much information about the studies carried out in nursery phase for arboreal legumes, however, a management data is that it is recommended at the moment of installing a nursery of L. Leucocephala, to collect botanical seeds with less than three months because in the old seed the germination percentage is considerably reduced.
▶ The bed where the nursery will be planted should be prepared with abundant organic matter and the seed should be scarified using any of the existing methods, which helps in the germination process. Some authors state that Leucaena plants are ready to be transplanted when they are approximately 20-30 cm high.

This species is well adapted to a great variety of climatic conditions, it is common to find natural areas of vegetation where leucaena predominates and grows forming relatively compact areas.
For its establishment, the climatic conditions of the region should be considered; it is generally recommended to establish it at the beginning of the rainy season.
It adapts to environments with rainfall from 700 to 3,000 mm does not tolerate prolonged waterlogging, prefers deep soils with good internal drainage and pH between 6.0 and 7.5, tolerates low levels of phosphorus (P), and adapts to clay, heavy and saline soils.
