Little league battles aren't one of my favourites because of the peculiar nature of it. First of all, my best summoner is Delwyn Dragonscale and despite being so cheap, the problem is that I can't use him in these sort of battles because he costs 5 mana.
Secondly, little league battles require precision and I mean to the "T". Everything has to be perfect or almost perfect and then you still have to hope for the best after that. Unlike battles where I have total freedom to pick whatever card I like and rub my hands together like an evil scientist, these battles always leave me guessing because you never know what will happen.
I've been in some of Little league battles in recent times, and you can see a couple of them listed below;

The battles above are some interesting little league battles that I embarked on in recent times with varying results but in terms of action and absolute thrill, none of them come close to the battle of the day.
Battle Of The Day
This battle is one of those types that has tensed endings and for the most part, you have no idea which way it is going to swing.
The Lineup
The first consideration was my summoner and despite Alric being my second favourite summoner. he boosts magic and to me, that's the fastest way to decapitate an opponent fast.
In front of the pack and standing as the tank was the spineback Turtle. This little guy happens to be one of my favourite monsters because of those wicked thorns. Putting it in front was part of the plot that will weaken the defence of any melee monster, and true to its thorns, it delivered on its promise.
I love magic monsters and more so when they come with Sneak ability. This guy was put in the battle to sucker punch the opponent from behind, but alas, it didn't work out because it was the first to be taken out through a snipe hit from a ranged opponent.
Ice Pixie is a rare monster that I use in many battles, particularly when Mana cost is an issue. She's also the cheapest magic-using monster in terms of mana cost, and so she slotted in nicely.
Sabre Shark had one clear job, and it was pretty much the same role with Coral Wraith. Hit the opponent from behind and do it fast.
His royal highness is slow but don't get it twisted, he's no slouch. He has shields up that ensures you can at least be protected from a sneak hit but his most important quality is his healing ability. It was instrumental in keeping the Spineback Turtle in the game longer and thus breaking more damage through those wicked thorns.
Last and surprisingly the most important monster in this battle was the feasting seaweed. Sometimes battles go the way you planned them, and other times, they surprise you. In this case, the feasting seaweed with the opportunity ability was the kingmaker despite being put at the back to shield the crustacean king in the event of pesky sneak monsters with the opposition.
The Strategy
My team was set up to hit quick and fast, hoping that I'd be able to do critical damage to my opponent in the first round and in doing so, take out a couple of monsters that could ruin my chances in the long run.
At the beginning of the third round, it was 2 of my monsters versus 4 of my opponent's, and at that point, I thought it was over but thanks to the combination of Spineback Turtle and Crustacean King's healing ability, those thorns on the turtle did some extra damage on the last melee monsters, those making it easy for my feasting seaweed to steal the victory at the end.
Lesson Learned
At the end of the battle, you'll see how small margins can make the difference in a battle. At the end of the day, all it took was one critical hit from feasting seaweed that helped me coast to the ultimate victory.
It is also important to have monsters with flying ability, and extra points if it has magic ability to make your life easier. This battle also highlighted the obvious weakness of ranged monsters because that was the determining factor in the victory.
The battle is not over until it is over, feel free to experiment with positions and don't be afraid to sacrifice monsters sometimes. Personally, if there's something I could change in this battle, it is that I would have loved to have more speed. My plan was to hit fast and do damage but it didn't work out that way, but ultimately worked out nonetheless.
