Dreams!
Is it controlled by our subconscious? Or, it is something else that wasn't revealed yet. People dream, people laugh, people fear, people feel good in their dreams.
Sometimes, the dream comes with colors; sometimes black and white. From the very beginning of civilized culture, dreams have been shaping our imagination.
Myths, legends and the stories of the supernatural are strongly linked with dreams. There exist innocent dreams as well as fearful ones. In an early age dreams are fully centered on imagination and of pleasure. I can remember, I had an imaginary friend who came into existence straight from my dream.
I could talk to him, play with him and share my childish nonsense with it. But dreams have it's opposite side as well. many people are haunted by their dreams. The dreams that keep us abruptly awake and the ones that keep us
in a night of deep and enchanting sleep are seemingly the same.
We actually do not see any color in our dreams. In our imagination that fills the gap of reality and imagination. Psychologists proved that all we dream are none but the inner thoughts, fears, likings and most importantly the direct relation of mind and thought process.
If you think of something beautiful and your mind is fully occupied with that, you will dream of something beautiful; like an eye pleasing landscape or a short walk in a calm beach. However, if your mind is in a stage of stress and you recently faced something terrible, I can assure you that you may dream something fearful.
Though the findings are fully based on imagination. But you find some greatest works on dreams in the field of literature and medical science. Interpretations of dreams can be identically different from one culture to another.
You call it superstitions or something else. But we can not fully deny of it's appeal. In Bengali culture, we have great respect of interpreting dreams. Have you heard the word called 'Khoab'? This vers word meaning simply 'Dream' in Bengali.
But it has a huge impact in our pastoral life.
It was not that long time ago when people used to give much importance to what they dreamt. Even the people who are more cautious shows eagerness to know what their dream means. Many wise or elder people used to give interpretation about the dream.
Some are still common around us. The rural life that filled the setting of such a dream sequence can never be ignored. Farmers, businessmen, boatmen, sailors, holy people, every rich, every poor and even the just born baby all of us has the superpower to dream.*
Our dream should be big. It is said that, if you do not dream big you can not go far. Men are glorious as to their dreams.
Moreover, it must not be overstated to say that we dream so that we are human. I think it is an inborn blissful gift for us to cherish and get the fun out of it.
So, happy dreaming folks!
Thank you for your time.
