I did not see the liberation war of Bangladesh because I was not born then. Since the liberation war of Bangladesh took place in the year 1971, there is no question of experiencing the second world wars as well. However, I have heard the story of these war from many grandparents and parents. In all those stories, we heard about instability, torture and oppression at that time. One of the main portrayals of the time was a nationwide curfew and resulting the roads were empty of people. The current generation has seen such a curfew-like scene at least a bit this surviving year. One of the main reasons for this is the lockdown due to global coronavirus pandemic. Although many people are now debating the disease after suffering from the corona virus for almost a year, when the corona virus first spread, everyone was terrified of the virus and felt comfortable being confined indoors. So, above all, 2020 can be said to be a year of coronavirus panic.
Like every year, 2020 is a year of ups and downs. Just as the political heat has swept the world, also it is the year of nightmare for businessmen. One of the highlights of the year was the defeat of Donald Trump from the presidency of the United States, one of the most powerful countries in the world, and the presence of Joe Biden. The long-running feud between the United States and the Middle East continued this year also. Oil prices plummeted due to global corona pandemic and traders of other commodities did not benefit much. To talk about climate change, it was not the year of much hope. Although many of the world's leading leaders have expressed particular concern about climate change, as every year, this year has not seen much improvement. Air and Water pollution is increasing instead of decreasing.
If I talk about my country, Bangladesh has gone through a dull year in politics. However, it is noteworthy that significant progress has been made in the field of transportation and communication. This year, perhaps by the end of next year, we will see the completion of the Padma Bridge, the largest bridge in the country, and the work of Metro Rail has come a long way.
If I talk about my personal achievement, then this is a year of mixed outcomes for me. Although the corona virus is a name of terror, it brought good news for me, although it may not sound very pleasant. Because of this coronavirus pandemic, I have been able to work from home for a long time, which means I was able to give my family much time compared to the last few years.
This year has been quite successful and joyful for me in the Hive blockchain as well. This year I have become one of the ambassadors by our esteemed community policy makers, it is a place which I consider as my family and feel like home. So this 2020 will remain a memorable year for me.
December is the month of our victory. So let's forget all the wear and tear of this year in this month of victory and start working on a new strategy and hope.
