Hello beautiful people from Hive, today is quite a beautiful day and believe me, now I understand better why disappointments happen because day before yesterday was my birthday and believe me it didn't end well until on Sunday when a family meeting was held in my father's compound at the Village where I and my siblings decided to come together and do something outstanding for our community.
Until today, everyone around this community has been taking a long walk to the stream in order to fetch clean water for drinking and what really bothered me mostly is the fact that the stream water itself isn't even clean enough for a healthy living because of the constant erosion and flooding which flows into the stream thus contaminating the water with waste bins and all sorts of unhealthy substance including faeces which erosion and flood flows into the water.
The first phase of the drilling was just concluded due to some minor issues we faced but by tomorrow, the beautiful people of Akon Itam, Akwa Ibom State will have not just a clean water but a closer pump so right now, they're all saying goodbye to the stream water which they've been using over the years now.
The workers were pretty warm and fun to be around as they teased each other in ways that got me laughing all through so for now, stay tuned as I'll drop the update on my next post about how far we'll go tomorrow. Thanks
